Swamp Fantasy Hockey 2019-2020
So, I'm about ready to fire up the Swamp Fantasy Hockey league for another season. Congrats to Ryan for winning last season.
The league will automatically renew each team as soon as I throw the switch, so be on the lookout for an email about that. If you didn't play last year and want to join in, please let me know and I'll get you an invitation. Also, let me know if you are opting out.
In the past several years, we've done snake drafts and we've done auction drafts. I'm personally ambivalent on which way we go. If you have an opinion, please voice it and we'll go with whatever the group consensus wants.
Also, if you have any thoughts on changes to the scoring categories, please voice them and we can look into possible changes. You may recall that last year we removed PIMs as a category.
Lastly, drafts are more fun if more people join in and draft in-person (and don't auto-draft), so let me know dates/times that DON'T work for you, between now and season start at the end of this month, so we can maximize in-person participation.

I find the league hard to keep up on but like playing so count me in..I like snake v. auction because whatever time we choose won't work for everyone and snake general work better in auto draft.

Hey San,
If you have room I will play.
Thanks

I'm in. This is the only league I play in so I don't know the norm. And obviously I'm not full of hockey knowledge, but I feel like there are too many positions. Do prefer a snake draft.
well this is gonna be someone's new signature - bronto

Yeah I think there are too many F and D. Can you have RW and LW?

I like the big rosters. Makes me learn more guys. If we have to trim, I'd take a way a defenseman or two.
I like a lot of the forward spots being open-ended because it leads to some people going big on faceoffs and assists and others looking for goals.
I like the auction, but can live (read: win leagues) with the snake.

Hard to get a consensus around here! OK, this is all just tentative, but I've reduced the roster size a bit, based on comments. I've also set it as a Snake draft, on Thursday, September 26, at 9:00 Eastern time, (8 central, 7 mountain, and 6 pacific).
I'm very willing to make further changes, based on your comments.

I like Ryan's idea for F flexibility and one or two less D.
