So it’s brownface because it’s an Arab character I guess? That’s not a term I’m familiar with but it’s what my alerts have said.

"Makeup" and a wig.

Obviously essential to any performance of "Day-O"

This is bitterly ironic too, as the Liberal war room has been working overtime to dig up any dirt on Conservative candidates. Anything that can be construed as being vaguely racist or anti-abortion rights.

There's more photos/videos coming out today.... more trouble.

Plus Jody Wilson Raybould's book coming out next week.

Going to be a rocky campaign.

Well, he's going to have a "minority" government, so that means he's not racist, right?

Doug Henning, that's a blast from the past. He probably made a lot of money, but never fixed that overbite.

Sums Up Trudeau Nicely
Trudeau has only two modes: empathising and grovelling. Irrespective of his mystifying youthful makeup choices, neither mode has proved an effective weapon against the blandly malignant siren call of Tory rival Andrew Sheer’s populism. And that’s the real reason he’s failing. It’s not that we don’t believe he’s sincere – it’s that his sincerity has been revealed as a form of stupidity, a blindspot of privilege that undermines his project as a whole.

I have an aunt in rural Saskatchewan (I know - redundant) who posts every day on Facebook. Always an anti-Trudeau or anti-Liberal party meme. [sigh]

If she lived in the US, I'm sure she'd be a Trump fan.

Amazing that it takes a 16 year old to not be a mealy-mouthed sycophant when near the powerful and famous.

Liberal candidate apologizes for suggesting black Canadians 'love' Trudeau for wearing blackface

Not just a candidate, she has represented a riding (district) that is 40% or more visible minority for the past 20 years.

I mean, if you're going to make shit up, at least make it seem somewhat plausible.

Just to prove that I loathe both major parties with equal fervour...

Scheer pledges to close asylum 'loophole' at Quebec border crossing

Conservative leader singles out one of Trump's favourite bands of Boogymen, MS-13 even though fewer than 1% of refugee claimants to Canada were from El Salvador.

How to say "strawman" in both official languages?

Le Strawman

Scheer is throwing away an election that was handed to him.

I can see the NDP doing well. May not agree with their policies but Singh has run as good of a campaign as he possibly can.

See - Tim Hudak in the Ontario election of 2014. Why try to attract disgruntled members of the centre (and in Canada - that's the majority of voters) when you can veer way right and fire up the base which was going to vote for you anyway.

I so fervently want a minority government so that mistakes will be addressed and new leaders chosen.

Yeah, Scheer is just dodging to many questions.
Just say you're Pro-Life but as leader will not touch the Abortion Law and be done with it.

"I'm Pro-Life and the law allows people to be Pro-Life or Pro-Choice. I support the law"

Then attack Trudeau if he says this is wrong. Scheer's avoidance made it worse.
That's what Trudeau is good at. Standing up and admitting his boneheaded mistakes.

The big polling story isn't between the Conservatives and the Liberals. It's the Bloc jumping wildly in Quebec and potentially killing the Liberals seat advantage.

338canada showing a big drop in the Liberals shot at winning and it has nothing to do with the Conservatives jumping up. It's the Bloc stealing seats from the Liberals.

Right now, they've got even a Liberal/NDP combo not having enough seats for a majority.

I watched both debates. Trudeau cannot answer a question

"Dark Oil Money" - does that include those who own huge pipeline developments?

I voted Green for what it's worth - and in my riding, not worth much.

But I looked at the ballot paper and just couldn't support either of the two big parties and the only time I voted NDP as a protest, they won in Ontario - so it's kind of a phobia.

I was going to vote Liberal whilst holding my nose, but every time I saw one of the ads featuring heavily made up Justin during the football games Sunday my bile started rising.

Pruitt. I don't know what to post here to put everything in context.

The election is an absolute clusterfuck and as a result might make Monday night awesome to follow.

And we may do it all again in 6 months.

Agree 100%

I am old enough to know that whichever party wins won;t mean that the sky starts falling on Tuesday morning. (Although to be honest, a Conservative majority scares me).

It should be more entertaining than the Pats-Jets game anyway. Our American friends should one day have the experience of watching election results come in when there are 4 parties that are going to get at least 15% of the vote. It is strange.

In my mind, not a bad outcome.

If Sheer has any pride, he will step down as leader tonight. Talk about losing a winnable election.
