So far in 2019, there are 9.14 total flags per team per game (including declined and offsetting). That's exactly 2 flags per team more than the number in 2012, just seven years ago. That's four more flags per game, a 28% increase in seven years. People aren't doing more penalties now than they did then. It's clearly not all helmet to helmet or other safety initiatives.

I know the NFL will survive this. It's completely impervious to being harmed by things that cut against the fan experience, I know all that.

Booger: "The Packers are definitely going to want to get in the end zone here, and the Lions are definitely going to want to prevent the touchdown."
Spot the lie.
Oh Booger.

Maybe Witten wasn;t the problem?

I know this won't be clear to people who watch the Bengals, but that is actually an accurate statement about football strategy.

Well, the Lions did try to let the Packers score and the Packers chose not to but he said that well before that.

Cost me a $400 win in one of my pools.

So let the Lions' fans complain all they want, it's clear who the victim was last night.

I was going to say the same thing. Give him credit for that, if nothing else.

I'll give him some credit for that... although hard to imagine any commentator other than the brain dead Trent Green not saying something.

Can't think of a clever enough new thread title so I'll put here. Rams trade Marcus Peters to Ravens. Gamblers feel free to grab the over 54 against Atlanta with a high degree of confidence.

Yeah, that seems like a trap number almost. Hard to imagine either of those teams not scoring 30+ points.

Apparently Brock Osweiler is retiring today.

Guy made $41,300,000 in the NFL. What a league.
