Re: 2019-20 NBA Season
Checked out my first 2020 mock draft to see if the Warriors are going to get a 1996-97 Spurs type outcome from their disaster season. They’ll probably try to get James Wiseman as Bob Myers has been unsuccessfully drafting centers for a while now. But LaMelo Ball taking Curry’s job would be funny.
Re: 2019-20 NBA Season
I find it odd that the ESPN blurb on this all day has been assurances from the Curry camp that Steph still plans to play in the Olympics. Odd in the sense that the season is barely a week old and the injury doesn’t appear to be season ending. I mean surely there should be somebody in the room acting as if the five-time defending Western champions are not tanking from the beginning of November on, no? And I thought we didn’t care about international basketball? I guess that with LeBron and KD likely out of Tokyo, Curry views this as his Olympics and consequently more important to his brand than anything the Warriors can accomplish this season? Or am I reading too much into how ESPN reports on this story?
Re: 2019-20 NBA Season
You are not reading too much into it. The (mostly) unspoken tension that made Durant on the Warriors untenable in the longterm was the way that KD’s presence there weakened Curry’s Under Armour brand. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that KD chose to team up with another huge Nike guy after leaving. (Kyrie is nowhere near a top-5 basketball player but he’s easily a top-5 sneaker pitchman.) Given the prominence of Asia as a basketball growth market I’m sure Curry is very focused on the 2020 Games as a way to re-establish his place at the center of the sport.Rex wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2019 9:00 pm I find it odd that the ESPN blurb on this all day has been assurances from the Curry camp that Steph still plans to play in the Olympics. Re: 2019-20 NBA Season
Recent articles I’ve read indicate the KD’s spat with Draymond Green was the defining reason for his decision to exit Golden State.

Seven games in and Ja Morant is averaging 20.4 ppg/5.3 apg /3.7rpg on 52% shooting from the floor and 75% from the line. In only 28 minutes a game on average as the Grizzlies are limiting his minutes initially.
Also has taken over three fourth quarters now.
Delighted.

Morant looks awesome. Only concern the Grizz should have is that he injures himself trying to re-enact the Carter/Weis dunk. He had an awkward fall the other night after trying an absolutely insane poster dunk on some Rockets big man.tennbengal wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2019 8:42 am Seven games in and Ja Morant is averaging 20.4 ppg/5.3 apg /3.7rpg on 52% shooting from the floor and 75% from the line. Yup, that's a concern. He's gonna posterize someone or die trying. I would prefer he pull that back a tad - but he's such a natural attacker of the rim, not sure how you do that - hoping he learns a bit from trial and error on that before he breaks in half.Joe K wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2019 10:44 amMorant looks awesome. 60x gilded and tweeted out by Rovell already:
I analyzed James Harden's performance in every NBA city to see if there is a correlation between his box score and the city's average strip club rating.

In what world does Boston have better strip clubs than Atlanta. Garbage in garbage out.
Re: 2019-20 NBA Season
Also, I'm calling bullshit on Toronto having the worst strip clubs in North America.

I do not visit them any more, but a couple of them are legendary. I seem to recall Jalen Rose raving about them.

And the great thing about the Toronto strip joints is that all of the dancers are students paying their tuition. A very smart group of girls.

After Guam strip clubs, nothing compared. You just had to go straight up whore houses after that.

I had one experience. It was substantially better than most.

Dion Waiters is a legend.
Re: 2019-20 NBA Season
Hayward injury really sucks. Guy looked great and team looked solid. They've got extra wings but he was the cog in my eyes. We'll see if they can keep up with the east while he's out. Small sample so far but they're good enough to compete for a finals spot without Kyrie and horford and that is really satisfying.

Holy crap, Ja Morant.
Re: 2019-20 NBA Season
Here’s the video.
Morant looks absolutely nasty so far. He has the chance to be Russell Westbrook with good shot selection, which is scary for the rest of the league.
