The Pope's face appearing in the orbiting cloud of human shit is one of the greatest things I've seen on TV in a while.

I was loving the first 3 episodes, then started to find it tiresome. Getting annoyed with all the characters and they all seem played out, except Matt. Zach Woods is awesome. Plays the same character, but you can slot him into anything and it works. I'm 7 episodes in, and I will finish it, but I find I don't care about it, feels like I'm watching to finish a task. But VFX cracked me the fuck up. The delivery was just so perfect.

I've never seen anything like it, and am so glad that my boys will watch it with us. It probably helps that Joe reminds my house of my wife's recently deceased uncle, who was just as sweet and doddering.

I bet if he reads the comments slagging him, he'd respond by saying the producers either intentionally removed G-d from the pledge to attack Christians, or think they should have edited history to include G-d to right a historical wrong.

Well, you can kind of tell by context that the tweet he replied to was some mook bitching that he is a godless scum because he "removed" "Under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance in the screenplay of the show he wrote.

I was wondering if anyone else was watching that show (Plot Against America). I watched the 1st episode yesterday, and liked it (I read the book quite a few years ago), but was a little thrown by Zoe Kazan playing the mom. She didn't look that much older then the oldest son!

I was so excited to read the book when it came out. First half was great, but then it seemed like Roth lost interest or was rushing to finish. I'd like to watch the show eventually, but thinking about living under Nazis isn't all that appealing at the moment.

I've been watching and listening to the accompanying podcast. I've enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Other than Winona Ryder and John Turturro I had never heard of any of the other actors. Simon makes no bones about this being an allegory to today's world.

Zoe Kazan played the Emily Gordon role in 'The Big Sick' (which is a great movie, if you haven't seen it).

Following up on this...Kazan is 36, so I guess she could have kids those ages, but she looks so young it seems jarring.

I love "Joe Pera Talks To You" so much - praying there's a season 3.

And watched the first couple of episodes of "Home Before Dark" on Apple TV. Really liked it.

The episode that revolved around GaTa and his past was phenomenal.

The end of the episode (*last three minutes or so) with Bob and Sharon Mill was also top-notch.

4 episodes in, and really liking it. His videos were awesome, and seeing him show himself in the worst light possible is pretty funny. He goes hard. Plus the girl who plays his GF is so hot.

[+] spoiler: The Colonizers and accompanying dressing down of the owners are about the only good things of this season. The incessant time jumps make for an incoherent story and the return of Jules feels like a reach where, if it wasn't already announced that this was the final season, it would be decried as a desperate move to save the series.

One of my top 5 sitcoms, easily. Watched the entire run last year, might do it again.

Only other show I've done that with is The Office. Started in on Friends and got sick of it. Might try to find the old, but not oldest Newhart show.

IIRC, the 1st season of P&R was also the year of the writer's strike, hence the short run. It definitely got infinitely better in seasons 2 and beyond.

It's not a perfect comparison, because 30 Rock was more fully formed from the start than P&R, but they did the same after getting rid of the Jimmy Fallon character.

My wife and I have been enjoying Berlin Station. It's available on Epix on-demand, not sure if it's available anywhere else. (We didn't have Epix on our system when the show came out in 2016, but it's on there now.)

It's a Euro-spy-suspense series, like Homeland or MI-5. We eat that shit up.

I stuck around through the first season because I had faith in Amy Poehler, and I felt like I was rewarded in the second season with the hunting episode. Echo about the addition by subtraction of the Mark character. An utter wet blanket.

On our latest rewatch, I decided Mark wasn't that bad. I'm probably wrong since he was, you know, axed from the show. But I think the greatness of Ben Wyatt does him a little bit of a disservice by comparison.

Oh, it's my favorite show ever by the way.

I agree with both sides of this. He wasn't as bad as I remembered, but the show definitely benefited from his departure in a significant way.
