Oh my God!
Cooks caught 42 passes last year in 14 games. He's had 5 official concussions.
Is Giff okay?

I think I'm going Ravens as my new team. I have Jackson on my fantasy team for the foreseeable future and I have an in tickets from a former client.

So THAT'S why wrestling is an essential job in Florida. Gronk has to be able to defend the 24/7 title.

Joe Staley retires after 13 seasons. Definite Hall of Pretty Good guy. Six Pro Bowls and three times second-team All-NFL.

Helps explain the Niners trading for Trent Williams, too.

Re: NFL Off-season 2020
I rooted for KC in this year’s Superbowl but Staley was the one guy for SF that I felt bad for. I really liked those great early-2010s Niners teams and he was the last significant holdover.

He will get into the hall of fame. He’s an offensive lineman who almost everybody knows his name.
Hold on, I'm trying to see if Jack London ever gets this fire built or not.
Re: NFL Off-season 2020
Saints gonna pay three QBs good money. I've gotta look up those salaries. That's seems difficult to do and maintain a roster. Like $40 million on one spot.

You'll need to explain this line to GPJ.

Haa good one.
It is really hard for OL to get in, even if they are well known. I would bet against Staley.

Re: NFL Off-season 2020
I'm no Jameis fan, but Taysom Hill has to be the odd man out here.
"beautiful, with an exotic-yet-familiar facial structure and an arresting gaze."
Re: NFL Off-season 2020
Believe you but something doesn't add up. Jameis has to get at least $8-10mm. Mariota got $9mm and he's worth more to me.
Here are the full details of Hill’s new contract, per a source with knowledge of the deal.
1. Signing bonus: $8 million.
2. 2020 base salary: $841,000, fully guaranteed.
3. 2021 roster bonus: $1.439 million, due on the fifth day of the league year and fully guaranteed five days after signing.
4. 2021 base salary: $10.72 million, $5.72 million of which is fully guaranteed at signing.
Brees
So, here’s what really matters: per Spotrac, Brees has cap hits of $23.65 million (in 2020), $36.15 million (in 2021), and $11.5 million (in 2022, after he’s presumably retired). Brees will still be paid $25 million per year in each of the next two seasons, and leave behind a modest salary cap penalty once he’s finished playing. So root for him to see this deal through its expiration.
Re: NFL Off-season 2020
Isn’t the Saints logic that they still want to use Hill as an all-purpose player for gadget plays and Winston is the true backup in case of a Brees injury? Basically the same setup as last year only with Winston replacing Bridgewater.

Winston's contract is $1.1m, with $3.4m in incentives.HaulCitgo wrote: ↑Mon Apr 27, 2020 4:00 pmBelieve you but something doesn't add up. Jameis has to get at least $8-10mm. Mariota got $9mm and he's worth more to me.

Re: NFL Off-season 2020
Bonuses: playing time in regular season ($1.76 million), playing time in playoffs ($1.8 million), and making the Pro Bowl($40,000). It adds up to $3.6 million, but I don't think it matters because he's not getting any of those unless things go completely sideways. Signing bonus of $148K, which is the only guaranteed money.govmentchedda wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2020 10:25 amWinston's contract is $1.1m, with $3.4m in incentives.

I'm guessing you don't know that Hill was signed to a $21M deal like two days before the Winston thing happened?

Probably more important than Winston's contract is the fact that he just had LASIK surgery.

Re: NFL Off-season 2020
Me isn’t he also very averse to contacts? So I can see this being a decent change at improvement from a couple of mistakes a game. He’s still a slinger of course.govmentchedda wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2020 2:57 pmDepends on how deep those lasers actually went.DSafetyGuy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2020 2:19 pm Probably more important than Winston's contract is the fact that he just had LASIK surgery.

Re: NFL Off-season 2020
As someone who has the same slight astigmatism issue Winston struggles with, contacts don't really fix the issue because of the relative lack of severity + the way astigmatism works. I've had to go with glasses pretty much every waking hour for the past 10 years or so
I can also vouch for the depth perception part of it. my depth perception is noticeably worse without my glasses

The best offseason story by far is going to be Aaron Rodgers hissy fit about the Packers drafting Love. Stocking up on popcorn.

Re: NFL Off-season 2020
Since Winston has been a topic for a little bit, he's been mocked pretty roundly for this part of his offseason training:
Most people say, "what pass rusher is flying over him", but I'm wondering why he keeps looking at the giant speed bag instead of keeping his eyes downfield.

Re: NFL Off-season 2020
That's a pretty skinny contract. When Brees gets hurt not crazy to have a shot at bonuses but still pretty skinny. I'm sure a lot of teams would have done that deal. So good job by saints but little surprised jameis didn't look for a better check or better shot to see the field. He might be #3 and not even on game day rosters assuming they want Hill in certain packages.

Re: NFL Off-season 2020
Bengals cutting Dalton and eating the $17.7 million cap charge. Will be interesting to see if the Pats make any moves to clear space for him, as they currently have about $2 million in space. Good thing they have $4.5 million from Antonio Brown's deal on their books.

Re: NFL Off-season 2020
I'd be surprised if they did anything significant to bring in someone. Maybe they try a one year deal like New Orleans did with Winston, but it looks like they're going with Stidham and hoping they strike gold with him and the other younger players. Then next year, they have cap space to do stuff. That Brown deal was so bad.DSafetyGuy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 30, 2020 9:07 am Bengals cutting Dalton and eating the $17.7 million cap charge. Re: NFL Off-season 2020
They don't have to eat any money. The way his contract was structured the guaranteed money was already paid out. No cap hit. It's one of the reasons they were able to be so active in FA (spent $135 million in FA not counting AJ Green tag).DSafetyGuy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 30, 2020 9:07 am Bengals cutting Dalton and eating the $17.7 million cap charge.
