Any SalesForce experts?

I'm trying to set up a custom object in SalesForce and have a few questions. I won't bore the board with the deets. Anybody here know their way around this monster?

If you need some awesome custom reports, I'm your guy. But (thankfully) I don't have to deal with the administration of that shizz.

BTW, for the way SalesForce is eating the world, I can't believe how clunky the UI is. I expected it to be much, much nicer than it is.
