This #SMOOTH100 is just a microcosm of the general programming issues I have with SXM’s YR station. Not that I’m turning it off even after Summer Breeze came in at 15.

7 - Brandy
6 - Ride like the wind
5 - This is it
4 - Gorgy Porgy
3 - Peg
2 - what a fool believes

My wife hates HATES #7, 4 and 3. But like I said loves #1.

She has her own non-YR purist reasons for hating it.

I’m on board (!) with it not being YR, but enjoyed its GOTG2 fueled resurgence a couple of years ago and how often SXM plays it, in the way any of us might enjoy gently rocking out while lovingly mocking our SOs.

Local band is named, no shit, yacht rock. Given that this is the Shoals, they are also lights fucking out. They were the band for some dear friends wedding reception last night and it was an unbelievably good time. Whole place was cutting a rug. I’ve said before, but we are truly blessed here when it comes to music. For a small area (~100k people total), the number of great musicians is insane.

I knew one of the members of Player was a daytime soap star, but I didn't know his character's name was "Ridge Forrester".

At least as of 2016, when I saw them as part of a Yacht Rock bundle tour, the dude had aged really well.

Speaking of Christopher Cross, he was yesterday's subject of 'The Number Ones':

And if you aren't reading those...its a great column. Updates every MWF.

It's a state of mind.

Think it's gonna be Yacht Rock season post-work this evening, on the back porch in the 80s. Yeah...

I am not sure I exactly what this yacht rock stuff is about, but the songs you've reacted negatively to are the ones I like more.

Put another way, the things you think are useless I can't understand.

On our honeymoon, wife and I went out on a sunset catamaran, where we sat in the netting while they served us wine and blasted Orinoco Flow and it was fucking epic.

I know this doesn't count, but fuck you rass.
