The thread up to that point seemed to indicate that it wasn't certain. And I was linking everything, for context.

Those texts were there right along with the video when I first saw it. What I'm saying is that I don't know that those texts make it certain. It really looks that way, but I also really want it to be true, which is why I'm skeptical.

So Howard tweeted this:tennbengal wrote: ↑Sat May 30, 2020 10:22 am The MN gov and AG pretty clear that last night's violence in their area from those outside the state. Hearing similar comments from Detroit and Oakland. Whites causing the damage - not too far a stretch to make the connection to attempts by the white supremacists to spark something worse.
I don't know what the percentages are and I'm sure there are a few troublemakers traveling just to be shitheads and cause chaos, but I'm wondering if pushing the story that this is all outside troublemakers is a way for politicians to minimize how pissed their citizens are. They'd rather believe that it's some troublemakers rather than it's many normally good citizen who are so enraged that they're losing control.

The article had somewhere around 80% from Minnesota, although it acknowledged problems with incomplete/inaccurate data (was of a certain time window, did not include reason for being placed in jail, etc.).EdRomero wrote: ↑Sat May 30, 2020 9:22 pmSo Howard tweeted this:tennbengal wrote: ↑Sat May 30, 2020 10:22 am The MN gov and AG pretty clear that last night's violence in their area from those outside the state. If anything, there are attempts to distract from police instigating violence by shooting rubber bullets, tear gas, etc. into peaceful crowds.

Oh that's cool. Just shooting rubber bullets at people on their porch. Not terroristic at all.

Tons of right-wingers were posting a truncated version of that machete clip last night and claiming that it was store owner getting murdered by “thugs.” (Apparently the guy survived.)

I guess Michael Jordan didn't care for all of the recent critiques.

Trump going into the bunker. Theatrics to draw attention to the antifa 'threat'?
Re: The Important Sounds of Things Falling Apart
Where can I bet on an unprompted tweet in the next 24 hours about he was not scared at all but the people around him forced him to go into hiding so he did it to appease them?

Q going to the youth-led march here in Baltimore that organizes at 3:30 pm and starts from the convention center at 4:00. He's going with two of his african-american friends from school to stand and walk in support. I am at the office and will hold here as their ride home. I could say I am proud, and I am, but also frightened. It is all on such a knife's edge. So many spoiling for violence from the Cheeto to the police to the those who get off on it - there's going to be something touched off somewhere that's going to be Kent State bad. The white house and those who want to enforce their version of martial law want it sooo badly.

Damn. Good for you for letting him go, not sure I could give the green light to my kids. I'd want to, and maybe when they are older I could, but man, that is a tough call.tennbengal wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2020 9:36 am Q going to the youth-led march here in Baltimore that organizes at 3:30 pm and starts from the convention center at 4:00. He's 18. I don't know how to bar him. He's right to want to stand and raise his voice. I should be too. But I am also so worried about the government and police response. We know how this goes. The Sybian wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2020 10:16 amDamn. Good for you for letting him go, not sure I could give the green light to my kids. I get that you can't really bar him, but it sounds like you are supporting his decision (even if cautiously), and I respect that.tennbengal wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2020 10:30 amHe's 18.
