that was a lot of fun. PDX, Degen, DSafe and wlu last four standing. Paying to 2.
Re: Potential future Swamp poker game -first game SUNDAY, MAY 31
Enjoyed it. Good low stakes game with enjoyable banter. Next time I am drinking more.

That was a battle. I think the final three took almost an hour. Each of us was all in a few times.

Degen and PDX, winnings have been sent. Degen, let me know if everything looks square regarding sending currency across international lines.

Sorry guys. I regret missing it but didn't realize Ford v. Ferrari was 150 minutes long and that we didn't have dinner in the house.

Glad it was a good time boys. Really sorry I didn't make it but I was in the sun for 13 hours yesterday and just totally zapped. Looking forward to the next one.

I got tired and played middling hands badly.

Very tidy game. My chip lead going into the final 3 was all for naught.
Re: Potential future Swamp poker game -first game SUNDAY, MAY 31
Also no complaints about the structure or tables. Small tables may not be traditional but kept the pace fast and more hands to consider playing.
Enjoyed trying to read Karma on zoom and figuring out if I could get enough screen reflection off off DSafe's glasses to see his cards. Maybe I should have focused on PDX before handing him my stack.

I guess my decision a couple years ago to put off transition lenses, forcing me to look over the top of my glasses for close reading and computer work, was a good one after all.wlu_lax6 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2020 11:36 am Also no complaints about the structure or tables. Agreed. lots of fun...except for the not winning thing....Enjoyed the zoom on the side too. Also $10 was the right amount for caring but not too much.DSafetyGuy wrote: ↑Mon Jun 08, 2020 11:48 am Was thinking yesterday that this was fun and I'm down to play again.
Re: Potential future Swamp poker game -next game TBA
Agreed on all points. Let's see if we can get to about eight or nine players one night in the next week or so. First thought would be either Friday night or Sunday night.

a hair early on Sunday would be ideal (maybe 8:45 or 9 instead of 9:30). The all too familiar west coast bias that we see in sports

Re: Potential future Swamp poker game -next game TBA
I think Sunday would work better for me, as well (keeps me from being tied up on consecutive nights due to Swamp Cinema). The earlier start time is fine, which is not to say I had an issue with the first game lasting until 12:20am Eastern or thereabouts.

Let's shoot for Sunday at 9 ET and hope we can get another two or three ppl at least.

Haven't set it yet, sorry - last few nights have been full of "virtual" gatherings. Quinn was originally supposed to have his HS graduation ceremony last night...

We're at six at least and can probably try to scrounge up another two or three by then.

Re: Potential future Swamp poker game -next game TBA
would we open this up to friends of swamp folks? not sure if I have a friend or two who would want to play, but figured I would ask the question. Feels like it could change the low key dynamic if we are not careful.
Re: Potential future Swamp poker game -next game TBA
I can't make Sunday unless it's after 10 EDT. So if there is interest in a second game I could probably make that.

Re: Potential future Swamp poker game -next game TBA
The late Sunday games are a killer for me if we start at 9EST. You guys were up playing until 1230 last time. I'd like a quicker game if we're only playing for a 10 spot or try to go to 8ish on a weeknight.
The weather is nice here now so I'm gonna be hit and miss on the weekends. Though once we get our new porch put in, sitting out there with a stogie and my laptop becomes an option...

Re: Potential future Swamp poker game -next game TBA
Yeah the late starts are not my favorite, but I get it for inclusion purposes. Brian, GK and PDX have all been in most of the tournaments I have been in. Last week I was up til one and wanted to die sunday morning. Part of that was of my own making.BSF21 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 9:01 am The late Sunday games are a killer for me if we start at 9EST. If the west coasters are able to start earlier, I am fine with making it earlier - have been looking for a compromise time that works for all time zones.
Re: Potential future Swamp poker game -next game TBA
I can definitely start earlier for my part.

I'm probably ok at an earlier time. Gawd knows, I will probably again play for the shortest time.
