SportsFrog History

The Festitivus thread got me wondering when the SportsFrog got started. It looks like the first post was January 3, 2003. https://web.archive.org/web/20030210062 ... 30101.html

Looks like I joined in May 2004. I forgot that my original username was Dave. I later changed to Rerun, and I've been Shirley for a long time now. https://web.archive.org/web/20070220231 ... b864adf164

If you click into that first link and to go the Swamp, there's a link that takes you to a members list.

Says I joined in February of 2004.

I joined in September of 2005 to make sure everyone knew I was OK. This was one month after my wedding. To my ex-wife.

I joined in November 2003, one month after I got sober. In March 2008 my wife joined me on a trip to NYC to participate in the Sports Frog Fantasy Baseball Auction. Had lunch with Howard on Saturday and we went to see Spamalot.

Didn't post much more back then than I do now, but I'm guessing I joined, or at least started lurking, around the 2004-2005 timeframe. Can't seem to find any reference for that though.

Interesting peak into our history. I wonder if I was still primarily lurking then. I thought I joined in May 2005, pretty sure I joined just before I got married. Who'd of thunk that 15 years later I'd still be wasting my time reading your snarky insults and confirmation bias political takes.

I must've been a lot less frequent back then. Can't believe I'm not all over that The Office thread, as it's a top 5 show for me... Maybe top 2.

And I'm right there with AB, holding the Maura Tierney torch.

And I still watch DH, though I'm pretty selective at this point. A lot of the ones that came on board after NY and OC are trash (Dallas, Atlanta, Bev Hills) .

My avatar must have been some soon-to-be bust for the Lions after the draft (especially given the timing).

My signature (which I'm not sure I ever explained) was a "conversation" my best friend and I had with someone (probably in a bar) while absolutely stoned to the gills one night.

Oh, shit... I constantly did that back when DH was a thing.

And, yeah, I loved DH... Bunch of cuties. I watch a ton of shit with my wife that I'd never turn on if it was up to just me. In turn, she watches a bunch of stuff that's really more for me (Jack Ryan, The Wire, a ton of documentaries).

Well, thank you both.

And yes, 23. Still living in Louisiana and surrounded by clearly influential, unsavory white people.

Hell, I remember a Michelle Malkin thing that I linked to about the flag being upside down or something. I think it alluded to immigrants doing it. Definitely an out of context sorry. It was something your racist uncle would share.
