I'll cue up Boxer after I fight my way through Rage Against the Machine.

I think I'm just too old (or spent too much time raising kids) to listen to screaming. But I'm starting to warm to a couple of the non-screaming songs.

Same. I can't think of a single band I like that would be described as loud.

I think I'm generally okay with loud if there's a clear prominent melody or singing. For a couple songs by the Alarm, I still turn my car stereo up to 11.

I've had a lot of import albums at different times in my life. I guess I'll go with one I still listen to somewhat frequently. Almost went with Rage Against The Machine, but instead, I'm going with:

I want to give everyone who might want in a chance because once we hit phase two, no one else can join as it would defeat the (partially fleshed out) purpose. Maybe through the weekend?

Me too! Bapo! set me up with about 20 albums that I absolutely love. I stopped seeking out music 20 years ago, and occasionally gave a shot to bands recommended here, but Bapo! left me a huge library on Dropbox, and it's probably 50% of the music I listen to. This is one of the best of the bunch.

Thinking back to when music really had an impact on me, I remember being blown away the first time I heard The Red Hot Chili Peppers Blood Sugar Sex Magic. Must have been sophomore year of HS. A girl on my bus handed me her walkman and told me I had to listen to it. I had to go to the mall to buy it ASAP. I remember my mom driving back and asking me to pop it in her tape deck to hear it. Fortunately, she ignored the lyrics. My mom was funny, she used to borrow grunge CDs to play while she cleaned the house. Nirvana, STP, Pearl Jam...

I wish Bapo! would drop back in, perhaps once hockey starts back up.

and I was a freaky styley / mother's milk guy. Saw the Peppers open for the Violent Femmes my junior year in HS and well it was great.

1. I assume everyone has spotify and if not its free with ads.
2. As I've mentioned before, the vast openness of spotify has left me crippled in determining what to listen to.
3. This is a way to give me / us new music.
4. I assume this will go on forever or fall apart without a winner.

The Male Contestants:
Jerloma: 1973 (Houses of the Holy - Led Zeppelin)
A_B: 1977 (The Stranger - Billy Joel)
Pruitt: 1980 (Remain in Light - Talking Heads)
Rush2112: 1985 (Up on the Sun - Meat Puppets)
BFJ: 1988 (Our Beloved Revolutionary Sweetheart - Camper Van Beethoven)
Sabo: 1989 (Disintegration - The Cure)
Steve: 1990 (Flood - They Might Be Giants)
EdRomero: 1991 (Achtung Baby - U2)
PDX: 1991 (Badmotorfinger - Soundgarden)
Brian: 1992 (Slanted and Enchanted - Pavement)
Rass: 1992 (Automatic for the People - REM)
Rex: 1992 (Ooooooohhh... On the TLC Tip - TLC)
Ryan: 1992 (Check Your Head - Beastie Boys)
DaveInSeattle: 1993 (Exile in Guyville - Liz Phair)
DSafetyGuy: 1993 (Gentlemen - Afghan Whigs)
L-Jam3: 1994 (Dummy - Portishead)
Giff: 1995 (The Bends - Radiohead)
SanCarlos: 1995 (Trace - Son Volt)
Duff: 1996 (Pinkerton - Weezer)
Cerrano: 1997 (Like Swimming - Morphine)
Shirley: 1998 (In The Aeroplane Over The Sea - Neutral Milk Hotel)
GovmentChedda: 2007 (Boxer - The National)
Mister D: 2007 (Boxer - The National)
BSF21: 2009 (Fantasies - Metric)

Let me know if any entries / release years (per wiki) are incorrect.

Initial thought: 7 song spotify mixtape from the year your album came out, head to head, winner by vote moves on. Not sure if re-mixing after round 1 matchups is done makes this prohibitive or avoids it getting stale. Leaning re-mix, since we're all going to be indoors forever.
