Lloris seemed to want a piece of Son at the end of the half there. Weird.

Misplaced fury over the chance at the end of the half. He was pissed that Son didn;t run at a ball that was way over his head that then led to an Everton chance on goal.

Meanwhile, fucking meathead Dier was backtracking as if Richardlison had rabies.

Fuck Mourinho - this team is poisoned.

Guessing most EPL offensive players should be able to put that away. The palace defender gave him a ton of space and never closed the distance when he received the ball. Hung the goalie out to dry as he could go near or far post.

On another note, I hope they catch the sniper that took out Gary Cahill's hamstring just prior to the Giroud goal.

Beauty of a 4 v 3 fast break for that one. Did think they were going to go to left and give Pulisic a brace instead of the chip to Abraham.

Also my comment is not a shot at Pulisic...he is playing with incredible confidence...he is going at defenders with ball on foot (like 89th minute). He feels like he can beat anyone 1 v 1 right now.

I'm going to have to disagree here. Defender tried to keep him to the outside, on his weaker foot. Pulisic only had a tight spot to hit near post, high. Not many players are going to fire a bullet that accurate on their weaker foot. Not to mention, Pulisic had a nice acceleration and change of direction to make room to shoot. If the defender closes down too closely, Pulisic could have cut to the inside on his strong foot with the whole goal to shoot at. All credit to Pulisic on this one. It's not a jaw dropping goal, but that is a really impressive goal.

And the announcers are British, they pronounce most things wrong.

Maybe most Liverpool/City/Chelsea players should be able to put that away, but the EPL has 17 other teams! That would be a goal of the year candidate for a few of them.

We are going to have to agree to disagree on this one. The back gave him too much space before the ball got there (out of position?). So the defender was behind the 8 ball. Yeah took him to his weak foot but he was in trouble when he got there. I will take the striker 9 out of 10 times in the EPL and probably 7 out of 10 in my old man game on Saturday (even going left footed).

This is only true because Danilo took his on-goal-if-the-goal-were-50-feet-high blasts to Juventus.

Curious on people’s perspectives on the Fernandes penalty yesterday. Consensus in most places seems to be it should have been a foul on him rather than a penalty. My MUFC slant might not be helping, but, I see that he beat the defender to the ball enough to turn to try and hold him off, and the defender still stuck a leg in late. Yes, Bruno’s foot comes down on top of the guys leg, but the guy was nowhere near the ball and Bruno’s back was to him. Think of it in terms of if the defender was sliding in and missed the ball as badly and Bruno came down in the same spot, there would be no question of a penalty. Almost always, a defender that is second to the ball will be penalized with a foul.

Was it a soft penalty? Of course. Is it a horrifically bad call? Not even close.

It's a weird foul, made even more controversial by it's location right at the edge of the box, but I think it's the right call.

You are out of your damned mind. The defender stopped and was moving away from Fernandes, who stomped his leg. I can't blame the ref seeing it live at full speed, but VAR definitely should have reversed that call. You can see the defender pull out of the tackle, and turn away from Fernandes trying to get out of his way. Fernandes loses the ball trying to spin and lands on the defender. It's not the worst mistaken penalty given by a long shot, but it is very clearly the wrong call.

Here is the clip I pulled on Youtube. Even the comments are shocking one-sided with ManU fans saying it's a bad call.

Similar foul just before halftime of Wolves/Everton. Penalty given, and Jimenez converted.

I went to espn.com to check the score. Saw 2-1 ManU, so clicked on the game to get the details of who scored. I was confused for a minute before I realized that Southampton had scored in between to make it 2-2.

Yay!
