I know that at one point it was officially not allowed. The reasoning I was given is that the brim could be an injury hazard. Those shorter brimmed bicycle hats were deemed ok.
I did a scan of the FIFA rules, they are not explicitly banned. It really is the ref's call.
Yeah, that was my sense at the time this was back in high school where I pressed the issue a couple of times. It might actually have been a county rule, now that I think about it.
It kind of makes sense, really. I had a few fitted ball caps that if I came out on a cross and hit a guy on the nose or something it would've hart quite a bit.
You can lead a horse to fish, but you can't fish out a horse.
Interesting, hats used to be not uncommon... I played goalie for my school team in 8th grade and we had to wear these white foam padded helmets similar to Cech's. That and a mouthguard really helped my game with the ladies.

Well I know NFHS rule books differ in lots of ways and it would not surprise me if in the name of safety they had a rule. I often feel like the fashion police when I officiate lacrosse.
Two games left and they can the manager who took them from 8 points in 15 games to almost safety.
Pearson is the third manager to depart Vicarage Road this season, with Javi Gracia sacked in September, four months on from leading Watford to an FA Cup final, and Sánchez Flores, who was sacked after failing to overturn a desperate start to the season. Whoever replaces Pearson will be the club’s 13th appointment since Sean Dyche took charge nine years ago.

Pickford is wearing a baseball hat in the SHU/EVE match today.

Dubrovka wore one for Brighton today as well.

at this rate, a win over Leicester means third place and if you told me that at the beginning of the season I'd have been thrilled
not thrilled about this pandemic thing though

Why won't Lampard start Pulisic? Might've made a big difference today.
Pulisic has been starting most matches. He didn't play in the FA Cup match because of a knock, and I presume that kept him out of tonight's starting line up.
Squeaky bum Sunday. Man U looked much more tired than Leicester, but Bruno again proves his worth. The pass to set up Martial (to get fouled and set up the penalty) was perfect.
Was definitely pulling for Bournemout as well, but that Villa stretch to escape relegation was really impressive.
