Never seen "Titanic," "Avatar," "Schindlers List" or a lot of the DC and Marvel movies.

(Only missed 38 and 39.)
39 is too good for Thursday nights, sorry.

And I've seen 38 from the list. Well, 37 is probably more accurate since I fell asleep during "Godfather II" after watching "The Godfather" for the first half of very long doubleheader at the New Beverly.

My misses:

Django
The Prestige
Shutter Island
The Professional
Kill Bill: Vol 1

(I've seen pieces of the last three but not ever the movies in their entirety from start to finish)

One of the ten I haven't seen is The Professional. As a father of a twelve-year old daughter, would I be repulsed?

It's been a while since I've seen it, but I don't think so.

40 for me, or 41 if I'm allowed to combine ones I've seen parts of.

I don't get the low-key shaming for "only" seeing 35-40. That's got to be way more than the general population, right?

Same.

You would be if you read about the director's original plans.

I haven't seen it since it first came out, but I recall a fatherly/mentoring relationship, nothing sexual. Sure, he was teaching her how to become a hitman, but other than that, I don't remember anything inappropriate.

I really wanted to see that at Sundance but the timing didn’t work out right. I’m glad it’s out.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

Watched Old Guard on Netflix instead. Gives the conceit away a bit early (I didn't know it was a comic book series wither so came in blind), but surprisingly well done action film.

No gonna write it first but I have some contacts. It might not come to anything but I want to try to either just write for pleasure or maybe even make a $1000/mo or so writing after I retire. Any more than $1000/mo would be gravy. But I gotta start building some chops and I think TV/indie movies is the right way to go.

I have a mild crush on the lead actress, so that was a pleasant surprise seeing her pop up on screen.

Thanks to you guys for recommending... Absolutely loved it. Almost too quirky for my wife (the fairly constant "resetting" almost turned her off), but she was fully into it by the end.

What? The writer's treatment of her character and the aftermath of said treatment is what ruined the last season+ of HIMYM. The fan (I think) cut of the ending that was on YouTube is a much much better ending than what was broadcast on CBS and eases some of the pain of the ending.

I’ll say this. I guess I haven’t seen anything his movie in a long while. I missed so much of th e subversive humor in previous viewings. I remember thinking it was funny but I was only getting the most obvious Gags I guess. This was probably my first Mel Brooks movie.

I think it's time I sit my son down with Blazing Saddles and History of the World. Might need to pre-explain some of the depictions of racism in Blazing Saddles, that might freak him out.

In the summers when I was 16-17 years old, my friends and I wanted to drink but we were too young to go to bars. Our solution was to get somebody’s older sibling to buy us beer, which we’d then take to the drive-in movies. They charged one price for the car so we would all pack in. We’d get out folding chairs, drink and watch the movies. I think I saw Blazing Saddles every single day for a week that way. Memorized all the good lines. Good times.
