Biden’s at 50 in Wisconsin too. I expect Trump to win that state.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

Yeah I think 50 is better than 43.

degenerasian wrote: Wed Aug 19, 2020 4:21 pm Another dumb question. Since this convention is virtual, why is it being limited to the same nightly schedule as an in-person convention? This thing should be on 24/7 with young people dancing and music and pride parades and speeches from volunteers and community leaders. This should be 24/7 Jerry Lewis telethon style.
Seriously? The more content they create, the more likely they are to do something to fuck up their lead. The GOP is waiting for a major gaffe or fuckup to jump all over. Get some young idiots on the platform at 4:00 am saying some stupid shit, and suddenly that is an official statement from the Biden campaign. Not to mention, who the fuck wants more content from the DNC? I follow politics closer than probably 90-95% of the population, and I've watched maybe a total of 30 minutes of this pointless dog and pony show. The less I see, the easier it is to vote for Biden without having to think about who and what I am actually voting for. I'll focus on Trump when I vote. I did love Michelle Obama's speech, though. She fucking crushed it. And the bigger point, the more content you put out, you are just watering down the important stuff you actually want people to see.

Most of the people involved in the production aren't in the DNC, they're just hired by the DNC. They might happen to be OK working for them like DSafe's company presumably is, but it's still just a job so no, no one's gonna work an extra few hours on an already 12-16 hour day because Trump.
Overtime, including multipliers for short time off the clock and meal penalties, really mucks up your budget.

And these things are boring enough that the last thing they need would be to run out less pertinent people and entertainers.

Of course, if they actually wanted more eyeballs, maybe they'd have more of their popular and dynamic members speak instead of a steady stream of less popular old Democrats and Republicans.

As someone who has worked and attended conventions, the notion of actually making them somehow longer is hilarious.

The best thing they could've done is start the heavy hitter shit at 9pm ET and just go for a tight 60 each night. Very few people are going to sit through this shit on the east coast going up til midnight or whatever. But ppl in the other time zones are (mostly) able to tune in at a slightly earlier time.

That's really my beef with it. And it's not a big deal. You're either the type of person that chooses to watch a convention over Netflix or you're not.

So Susan Rice said yesterday that she is 100% sure Russia is going to rig the election. It really got me thinking is she right or is she trying to distract that they think Biden is going to lose out right.

ABC/CNN had Biden at 261 EV and Trump at like 130 or 140 as of what they know now. Biden needs 9 votes to win with Arizona, Texas, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Iowa, Ohio, Wisky, and Michigan still up for grabs. But as the guy who name escapes me on MSNBC said, Biden may not win one of those states and that could be very very likely.

The states that counted for Biden had him I think with a 5+ point lead, PA was one of them. I am not sure PA is a clear Biden win. Clinton was up by 9 points at this time in 2016 and lost. Trump was in Scranton yesterday and had a medium size crowd. One thing I am worried about, Biden isn't scheduling any rallies due to covid and Trump has them scheduled in battle ground states.

As per 270towin.com on 8/18:

183 Biden Safe:
HI, WA, OR, CA, IL, DC, NY, NJ, MA, CT, RI, DE, MD, VT, ME-1

Another 29 at Biden Likely:
CO, NM, VA

Assuming he has them, he needs 58 from (only listing Lean or Toss-up)
Leans: NV, MN, WI, MI, PA, NH

Toss-up:
AZ, NE-2, OH, NC, GA, FL, ME-2

Basically don't take the foot off the gas like Hilary did.

In 2016, Trump campaigned like a madman in the final weeks. Now with mail-in voting he is going earlier. Say what you want about Trump, he has tremendous energy.

I think Biden will win Florida, Arizona, and Michigan out of those.

Based on this list (https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epoll ... html#polls), Clinton was at 45-36 in Pennsylvania in the first week of August, which was a week or so after the Dem convention. Then there were no polls for three weeks, and then at the end of August she averaged +5, 46-41.

Right now Biden is at 50% in Penn, with a six-point lead. And he just showed himself to not be the Sleepy Hiding-In-A-Basement Joe that Trump has been ranting about for months.

I think unless Jim Comey drops a bombshell news story a week before the election that the FBI has come across emails that aren't his on a laptop that isn't his, Biden will hold Pennsylvania.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

At this point, is there evidence that Trump benefits from being in the public eye more often?

The reason he came back so well from the Access Hollywood tape is that after a couple of days, he STFU, and the media got bored and went on to something equally devastating (Hillary tripped once, or her foundation paid for a Nobel winner's travel, or emails).
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

Apparently Trump was texting his staff members all night during the DNC telling them what he wanted at the RNC. So we will probably see it look somewhat like the DNC.
