My son had a great observation. Coaches are so used to putting their play sheets in front of their mouths when they call plays, they cover their mouths even when wearing masks.

I wasn't paying super attention as we had a 3 kid socially distanced birthday "party" for the boy, but the vast majority of times they showed coaches in the games I glanced at there was a hell of a lot of protecting the neck and chin with the mask.
Did you see that ludicrous display last night?

You can't block a QB after he throws an interception? What the hell? Does a QB still get to tackle someone after an inception?

Also I loved the Browns play calling. It helps to be playing against that run defense. And burrow looks good.

Bengals D not good (AGAIN) but no Geno and no Mike Daniels last night in the middle of the d-line was a huge problem - especially against what was a really good plan and blocking scheme from the browns.

Burrow is a different dude - somehow eyes always downfield despite absolute hell raining on him at any given point in time from that line...

That game is 41-10 a year ago I suspect - Burrow somehow made it a little interesting. I guess progress.

I am not sure ZT is a good coach. He’s now 0-10 in games decided by eight points or less. That’s bad.

I think ZT gets the benefit of the doubt for now from an offensive X's and O's standpoint for now but I don't have high hopes. My problem is his hiring of his buddies Lou Anarumo as the DC and Jim Turner for the OL. After 18 games it's apparent they don't have the ability to deal with talent or injury challenges. The right side of the OL last night was atrocious (how bad is Billy Price that he couldn't get some time in at RG) and the D knew what was coming in the 4th quarter and still let it happen...to me that's a coaching issue.
I would like expensive whiskey.

Watching last night's game, I wondered if Mayfield (and Beckham, by extension) is a player who has a great amount of fragile self-confidence. If you can make things hard for him at the jump, he'll have problems all day, but if he gets off to a strong start, his confidence swells and he'll continue to play well.

Beckham seems to have the much more common "get me the ball or I'll go in the tank" illness.

Yo DSafe, you're more familiar with the Bears offense than I am so I just wanted to check if the right read here (at 8:40) is an easy toss to a wide open TE for 15+ yards OR a hospital ball into triple coverage (right after a previous hospital ball):

Gunpowder, you know a lot more about football than I do, but here's what I see from the pre-snap movement and route combination. Cohen goes in motion right-to-left and gets the jet sweep fake, helping to draw defensive movement and eyes to that side of the field. Ginn (top of the formation) runs an out-and-up to clear out the corner. From the slot on the same side, Robinson uses an inside release (by design and with the corner shading him to the outside) and runs a down-and-in, further drawing attention to the offense's left. Montgomery releases behind Robinson and runs a seam upfield, taking the Will with him. Graham eases off the line and runs the shallow cross, which doesn't affect the Mike playing zone.

The Bears have also gone on and on about how important tight ends are for this offense while Trubisky tends to force-feed Robinson.

So, yeah, I think the right read is not the crossing route into an ambulance.

So the Rams this week have greatly extended Cooper Kupp (3yrs/47M) and Robert Woods (4yr/65M). According to Over the cap, that means the Rams now will have 6 players (Goff, Donald, Ramsey, Kupp, Whitworth, and Woods) counting roughly $90M toward the 2021 cap. All basically untradeable contracts. It is time to seriously discuss whether or not Les Snead understands how the salary cap works. Given the likely reduction in the Cap the next couple years these contracts are at best irresponsible and at worst negligent. I understand showing faith in your players but giving needless extensions and handcuffing your ability to make any FA signings (I'll leave the exporting of Draft capital for another day) is incompetent. If they had returned to the Super Bowl last year then maybe I could get behind it, but rolling with a core that regressed and has (generously) a patchwork O-Line is hard to support.

I have wondered if the Rams have operated on a reliance of having star players/big contracts because they need headliners to drive season ticket/luxury box sales at the new stadium.

I'm not saying a lot of entertainment industry peeps who will use a suite or cluster of season tickets as a tax write-off (studios, production companies, agencies, record labels, etc.) really follow that closely, but having name recognition is a pull. To a lot of people, deciding whether or not to go to a game in LA was based on being seen someplace cool. For example, prior to winning the Stanley Cup, Kings games attendance usually went like this in playoff years:

first 2/3 of season - somewhere around 70-75% capacity with exceptions of visiting teams with strong fanbases (Philly, Chicago, Detroit) who overrun the arena (louder cheers for visiting team goals than home team)
last 1/3 of season - closer to 90-95% capacity, solidly in favor of Kings
playoffs - legit home-ice advantage

Same general feeling for all teams in LA and Anaheim, with minor exceptions for Lakers and Dodgers due to history of success, but even the attendance for those two would get ragged for those teams late in less successful seasons.

Drew Lock took a bad sack and looked very injured. TREVOR LAWRENCE COME ON DOWN!

I mean unless you think a Denver team with all backups on defence and Jeff Driskel at QB is winning a single game. That throwing shoulder didnt look good.

Not a great start to the season so far for Saquon. Outrushed by the 38 year old opposing QB in week one and now hurt on back to back carries in week 2.

That touchdown play from Big Ben to their rookie Claypool for 84 yards was excellent.

As a Pats fan, I'm envious of their ability to find good WRs year in and year out.
