Fake ballot drop off boxes owned by California GOP? Is that real?

I think the drop boxes are a more a ploy to get some "hrrrdrrr" fraud claim going. They were placed outside gunshops, gun ranges, and churches so look at all these Trump votes that were collected in non-official boxes under the auspices of ballot harvesting (which the GOP hates but is legal in (at least) CA.
Did you see that ludicrous display last night?

Apparently what they did was not legal.

I dunno. To me, it’s evidence of enthusiasm (or Trump hatred), not suppression. Lots of pent-up demand. You’re going to have a crush on opening day, just like with a new Star Wars movie.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

Yes and no to me. If this hadn’t become the norm on voting day in a lot of these left leaning districts I’d agree with you. But it is an all too familiar sight in urban centers in the south.

Maybe, but it is disgusting and wrong that people have to stand in line for hours to vote, and this only happens in Democratic areas of Republican states and it is intentional suppression. Until this year, early voting was never an option, and I've voted in-person every election since I graduated. I did absentee ballots while in school. I've never had more than 5 people in line in front of me, and there were multiple booths, so the line was never more than maybe 5 minutes. Most of the time I went at what I assume was a busy time, as I'd drop my kids off at school, then vote before going to work. My small town has 3 voting locations, each with multiple booths. If you are an hourly employee and can't get the day off, how are you expected to wait in line for 4 hours? If you have kids, you probably can't go before work, and maybe not even after. It's just ridiculous. The GOP strategy for decades has been to keep people misinformed and uninterested, because they know they don't represent the interests of the majority of voters.

I get your point in general, but no one has to vote on Opening Day of early voting. They just want to really badly.

We’ll see how things look in the next week or two, plus Election Day itself.

I mean, unless it is the one day they can do it, due to jobs, kids, etc. You are being pretty cavalier with what is clearly a concerted effort to make it as hard to vote as humanly possible in democrat strong areas in red states.

I waited over 2 hours in 2016. Not sure if that was volume, timing or intent given this is something like an 85%/15% voting town.

I was at about an hour in 2018. 2016 was shorter. I'm planning on early in person voting today or tomorrow. May swing by the library before lunch to see what the line looks like.

Blitzer is an idiot and a Trump guy.. Why was he trying to compare a stimulus package from 12 years ago to today.. He doesn't think things have changed.

CNN is run by Jeff Zucker. The same Jeff Zucker that ran NBC when The Apprentice was on TV.

If you invert one candidate on that graph, doesn't the flow look pretty similar? And wouldn't this imply there's a level of dependency here, not simply "Biden popularity increased over the last two weeks because of unique Biden inputs"?

I don't like CNN or Blitzer, but I think Pelosi came across pretty terribly in that exchange. She made a few substantive points about the proposed relief bill but then kept harping on Blitzer's supposed lack of respect for Democratic committee chairs. Which was ironic because in the same interview she was completely condescending towards Ro Khanna and Andrew Yang. Blitzer is hardly a populist but he presented as far more concerned than Peolosi about the plight of the tens of millions of Americans who are suffering and badly in need of economic relief.

Motherfuckers should have been "concerned about the plight of tens of millions of Americans" 6 months ago. This stimulus as a football to prove who "cares" about Americans more is so fucking disingenuous. Makes me sick. I don't need money and I got some the first go around and motherfuckers are out there starving and losing their homes. Fuck both sides for this bullshit.

Yeah, that was dumb but then Pelosi's response was even worse, asking if Blitzer was personally feeding homeless people. For one of the most powerful politicians in America, who herself is worth like $80 million, to respond that way is ridiculous. Wolf Blitzer isn't the Speaker of the House; you are.

Pelosi and the House passed the heroes act months ago. It has been sitting on McConnell's desk for months. Th Dems want money for states that have been hit hard by the virus. The Repubs want money for a FBI building that has nothing to do with the pandemic. So the Senate is now trying to pack the SCOTUS instead of worrying about the unemployed like Trump even wanted, but it's Pelosi's fault.

Do you think Pelosi effectively communicated any of those points in the interview with CNN?

Do you think that any potential voter who’s undecided about who to back for President, Senate or the House would watch that interview and come away impressed with the Democratic Party or its leadership?
