So, to get more of each tooth to cap on, they had to "lower the gum line" by doing the same shit on me that Brian went through. Good times. I think periodontists (gum specialists) are sadists.
I had a debridement done about 2 years ago (10 years removed from my last visit and a nasty Skoal habit). No lasering but they fucked me up realllll good. Basically used an ultrasonic pressure washer to clean me out. Lots of nitrous. I was sore for days afterwards but so happy I did it.

Peirodontists are fucking sadists.

I've honestly stopped caring about today every year. And I've been like this for the last several years.

When an external tyrant wants America to crumble we came together. When an internal one wants America to crumble, we're divided.

I gave up being Catholic because of imposed guilt. As such, I gave up being patriotic because of the same. America is not the greatest country in the world and everything that has happened this year proves it boldly. We were working up to it in years past, but it's full blown obvious now.

He's going to sign for 10 years. I root for many very good teams and can't complain overall, but the Rangers exist to hurt me.

The Athletic named them #1 in organizational rankings! (players 22 and under as of about two weeks from now)

Plus they're (probably) getting Lafreniere.

Seriously. Just ordered a new pair after wearing (and wearing down) the ones I ordered last July almost every single day since I got them. Happy to spend $50.

Ha! I watched Conan occasionally when he first came on. I was in HS, so I'm guessing only Friday night or maybe I taped the show on occasion. I liked it because it was so low budget and quirky, but it was really hard to watch early on. I watched very sporadically in college, and I doubt I ever watched an episode after college, but I've seen lots of clips on Youtube over the years, and when I do, I usually end up in a rabbit hole. I started listening to his podcast early on, and really enjoy it and feel like maybe I should have watched his show more. I just can't sit and watch a talk show, so many dumb skits and bits, so many boring interviews with celebrities I don't care about, it's just so much better pulling clips on Youtube. I used to watch Seth Meyers clips almost every day, but I've never actually turned his show on live TV.

I watched it alot in college. I worked until midnight so needed something to veg out to after I did a couple of bong hits before bed. Then the skits got me. Did usually veg way out during the majority of interviews but stay invested if there was some good band on late.

His show was very funny.

I've found his more recent standup to be "meh"

Other than JLo, I don't think you'll get any argument on Kiss. I'm not an expert, but Bob Weir never struck me as being talented. I love the Dead, but there are a lot of concerts where they sound like shit. Not sure if it was bad equipment, bad recordings or bad drugs, but they had a lot of off nights. Donna, OTOH, had very few nights in which she was on. She is great on studio albums, but always off key and off beat.

I was way into Phish 20 years ago. Much more than the Dead, I totally get why people would hate their music, but believe their talent has to be respected.

I was waiting for a time I could sit down and really read this. Powerful stuff and important to share, both for yourself and for others who may be going through something similar. Removing the stigma from mental illness is vital, and we've come a long way. Despite majoring in Psychology and spending more than 20 years under psychiatric care (medication) or therapy or both combined, I still feel a need to hide it. For me, and assume others, internal stigma is a symptom of the disease. Depression causes a feeling of shame and self-loathing, and a fear of others finding out. I don't know what I feared about others finding out, but I still have this fear.

Whenever I have opened up about my depression or shared that I see a therapist, I have never once sensed any judgment from anyone. It's almost always met with a reciprocal admission of having seen a therapist for something or compassion. Yet my fear is still there. And as Brian mentioned, I stopped caring about being judged many years ago, yet the fear of my secret getting out is still there.

All that said, if anyone ever needs someone to talk to, don't hesitate to reach out. Talking about our demons is incredibly helpful and hearing others understand and got through what you are dealing with provides hope.
