The trick on stopping PKs by Nick Rimando (and the fact that it was a passed down secret). Makes so much sense to me.

God damned paywall... I learned a trick that works pretty well. It's all about watching the shooter's hips. A right footed shooter has to open his hips to shoot to his right, or turn his right hip over to shoot to his left. Recently tried this with my daughter shooting on me, and I'm now too slow in reacting. By the time I process which way she is shooting, it's too late to get there.wlu_lax6 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 11, 2020 9:30 am The trick on stopping PKs by Nick Rimando (and the fact that it was a passed down secret). Paywall? Haven't we notified all Swampers on enough occasions about deals on Athletic memberships? It was going for $12/yr a few weeks ago.The Sybian wrote: ↑Fri Dec 11, 2020 10:50 amGod damned paywall... I learned a trick that works pretty well. It's all about watching the shooter's hips. Everything about that (including the pass) was so smooth
I felt aswirl with warm secretions.
Re: All threads are temporary. This one's about soccer.
The pass. Lack of pressure on the pass really. Nice finish but reus puts it on his foot from a ways. Gio doesn't even start the run til the ball is passed. kinda led him to space.
Do love the the outside flick though.
Really hope that's not a right back at the top. That was abysmal. I'll assume he's a winger and working hard to get back but still. He just let's the guy walk by him.

Took me like 3 replays to realize that was an outside of the foot flick. Amazing goal.

what could have been...wait he is still young...maybe this soccer thing won't come together for him and he can enjoy some sweet lax.

Love mom (I know easier for her to keep perspective) in that story. Fuck your brothers champions league debut, were going to dinner with the johnsons.
Re: All threads are temporary. This one's about soccer.
I read that thinking that there's no dinner in the world I would have chosen to attend rather than watch my son play in a Champion's League game. The Obamas can wait.

Read this SI piece from Grant Wahl a couple weeks ago about Jack Reyna. Fantastic piece. https://www.si.com/soccer/2018/12/12/cl ... i-dortmund

Airline change fees are expensive.
I can think of only a handful of games in my high school or college career that my dad did not make (and I did not get on the field a whole lot during college). Shoot my dad would stop by after work to watches games at lacrosse camp. So basically what I am saying is my dad was way better than Claudio and Danielle.
Wonder if that changes now that most games are streamed online.

Yeah, I've watched a lot high school games of my son barely leaving the bench, if at all. Wouldn't miss them.

I have taken to watching extended highlights of a rotation of teams, for various reasons. It's pretty incredible to tune and see things like we're seeing Gio and McKinnie on an almost weekly basis at this point.

I've rarely missed games either. But I don't go to my kids jobs and watch them every shift!

Unless you are Julian Green (was trying to think of a flash in the pan American in CL but could only think Julian's moment in Brazil and then disappearance).
Re: All threads are temporary. This one's about soccer.
Gotta believe the us swings and misses on youth talent a lot more than dortmond and ajax do. If those two clubs say kids can play...

I don’t think Julian’s father saw him much as a child, let alone went to any of his games.

Re: All threads are temporary. This one's about soccer.
You figure 95% of big club youth players don't ever make the full side, so I don't see it as a miss. If he was on the first team for 2 years as a teenager and flamed out, then I'd call it a miss.

My whole thing about Green was if you were his folks...you would kick yourself if you missed this one game.

Great move when you are trying to force a transfer. Also like the security would not let him in.

Read in the hustle that Amazon is lining up a bid for rights to Serie A (Italy). Guess this is the ESPN+ property right now. Said it could be 4B for 3 years. Hope for Bezos sake that Ronaldo does not go anywhere and Weston has a breakout World Cup....or several members of el Tri go to Italy.
