Jalen Green's going to make $500K this year on the G League Elite team, plus endorsements, including having an agent to help him get said endorsements.

Re: NCAA Basketball - 2020 Offseason/Season
The sound of Johnny Holiday, Chris Knoche, and the Wizard (Walt Williams) on the radio sound good. Different without the fan/arena noise but they call a great game.
Re: NCAA Basketball - 2020 Offseason/Season
Also if ever there was a year to bail on college hoops and go to the G League route, this is it.DSafetyGuy wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 3:22 pm Jalen Green's going to make $500K this year on the G League Elite team, plus endorsements, including having an agent to help him get said endorsements.

Fatts Russell playing up to his name. Fun game to watch -- no defense, no boxing out.

Refs do be fucking teams. May as well be sanitary.
My gall is sufficiently mitigated. Thank you for your concern.

Nothing more upsetting than when Philly kids go to an out of city A-10 school.
Re: NCAA Basketball - 2020 Offseason/Season
Nice start for UVA. They were preseason #4 in the country and got a surprise waiver for their transfer from Rice that they weren't expecting to play this year. He's a 6'9" wing and he hit 6 threes and scored 21 yesterday in 17 minutes. So yeah, the Cavs are gonna be pretty good again this year!

U San Francisco lost to UMass-Lowell a few days ago, and beats UVA today?

Yeah, my bad. USF shot lights out today. They played very well and UVA had stretches where they couldn't throw it in the ocean.A_B wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 1:24 pmRight on cue!Shirley wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 10:35 am Nice start for UVA. I don't believe in jinxes, but the halftime show of that game all about anointed UVa a championship on the basis of the first half. I tune in 40 minutes later and the Dons are dancing at midcourt.A_B wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 1:24 pmRight on cue!Shirley wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 10:35 am Nice start for UVA. UVA had a higher shooting percentage, overall, and made 13 more free throws. But, SF was 46% on 3-pointers.Shirley wrote: ↑Fri Nov 27, 2020 2:29 pmYeah, my bad. USF shot lights out today. I blame it on the ridiculous meme that was being shared on Twitter earlier that day comparing UVa and Gonzaga.

Re: NCAA Basketball - 2020 Offseason/Season
I'm really not too worried about UVA. The loss doesn't really mean anything and hopefully it will help the team avoid getting too caught up in expectations. They have a bunch of new additions to their regular rotation and Bennett is trying out a completely new offense. It looks more like a 5-out motion-style offense and it's producing a lot of drives to the basket, which is very different than what UVA has typically run. They'll get it sorted. Assuming the season can actually happen, that is.
Totally Kafkaesque
Re: NCAA Basketball - 2020 Offseason/Season
If you're interested in that sort of thing (basketball wonkiness), this article is a quite good analysis and statistical breakdown of UVA's new motion offense. What's amazing is the writer of this piece is a 17-year-old high school kid.

I didn't realize until these pics but I'd merged Shea Serrano and Shaka Smart into one person that I like in my head.

Re: NCAA Basketball - 2020 Offseason/Season
Seems really bad especially with benefit of hindsight but I'm sure the players were thinking that he was going to be fine even after being carted out. Kids that age think they're invincible.

I'm not arguing it was a good idea or fine just clarifying that the kids didn't do anything wrong by choosing to continue the game. I have no idea of what the timeline was

Re: NCAA Basketball - 2020 Offseason/Season
I agree the kids couldn't really make that decision with any level of judgement or care but I don't put it on them in any way. Which is why the coach, after the opposing coach offered twice, should have said, let's suspend this.

Also sounds like he's back in Gainesville at Shands. In my personal experience, I'd much rather be at Shands than Tallahassee Memorial.govmentchedda wrote: ↑Mon Dec 14, 2020 4:00 pm Keyontae is in a medically induced coma, according to his grandfather.
