Regular folks seem to be actually reading it and going "Why the fuck do all these countries get our money but Americans are only getting $600?" It's really weird to see such bipartisanship.

I cannot confirm exactly where all the money is going because I'm not going to read it. So, no shit we give money away to other countries because we're America. And we're a shithole country to our own citizens. I'm fairly certain the images I'm seeing of lines in the bill are legit, but it's odd taking that info at face value from people that normally share anti liberal memes.
people are mad because they didn't read it either or even bother to realize that the COVID relief bill is separate from *and* attached to the omnibus spending bill. the things that you're referring to are from people seeing things in spending bill and conflating that with the COVID relief measures

So if Ossoff or Warnock tweeted out “$3,000” right now, what do you think Trump would do?

Would he tweet out “FOUR THOUSAND!!!!”?

I think he might.

(I was explicitly referring to the foreign aid outrage referenced in the post quoted. the three-martini lunch deduction is obviously a different matter)

This was always the inevitable end of Trumpism. If he had won this election somehow, he would have bullied the GOP to run again in 2024 and dared the Supreme Court to stop him.

Chris Christie must be pissed about the Kushner pardon. Christie went through a lot to get that conviction, and called Kushner the most deplorable criminal he ever went indicted.

I'm sure to celebrate Paul Manafort is going to watch his wife get gangbanged after forcing her into it.

Those pardons of Trump’s co-conspirators don’t bother me too much. We knew they were coming, and now those assholes can be compelled to testify.

But the pardons of those Blackwater war criminals are egregious. Literally, the logic behind those is “Arabs aren’t people.”

The focus on BBC radio two nights ago was the pardon of the war criminals as they spoke to the father of a kid that was murdered by someone Trump pardoned. Needless to say, it's not playing well internationally.

As for your first point, my first reaction is Trump is exposing his corruption more by reminding people of his Russian dealings and the whole compelling to testify thing could be good, but then I feel like it's a Lucy holding the football situation -- the story will be lost, the Dems will be too nice, the GOP will keep maneuvering to avoid consequences, and Trump will be elected in 2024 because the media is focused on Kamala's husband getting a free round of golf from a Chinese businessman.

Well, it's Christmas Day, and a huge bomb went off in an American city, but rest assured, President Trump knows what's important.

I love that the argument is “the will of 74 million voters should not be discounted”. Yeah, I think the democrats agree with that argument. Since 81 million people voted the other way. It’s so weird.

This is the end of the Republican Party, right? Speaking in twenty years from now terms. They’re mad that people that don’t usually vote actually voted and that should just get worse for them moving forward.

Unfortunately it depends how bad the toll from Trump’s economic negligence is and if the Dems have the gall to nominate a woman and/or Black person if Biden doesn’t/can’t run again. If the GOP regains the presidency it’s never giving it up again without another civil war.

Gerrymandering and every other tactic to prevent people from voting have to be exhausted before they will reach their end.
