Feeling all the emotions right now. Sadness at what is, hope for what may be. Gonna tuck in a little more to this bottle of Spanish red. Hope you are all well, and if you're not, that things get better soon.

Got to see my Mom today for the first time in 10 months so that was nice. For the first time worried it might be for the last time ever but hoping this vaccination process goes smoothly and we come out the other side of all this. Merry Christmas to you all.

Merry Christmas everyone, except that one swamper no one likes. (It’s AB)
All kidding aside, given the way this year has gone, and for me the absolute cherry on top of the shit sundae has been the last two weeks, I am filled with hope and optimism for the first time in months. I look forward to the challenges ‘21 will bring. And I suspect some time down the road there will be things about ‘20 that I look back on with, if not great warmth, at least recognition of the good things that have happened in my life. There was a lot about this year that was unique in a good way. It’s kinda like fall camp in football, absolute misery while you’re in it, but once finished you come out on the other side feeling like a different, and better, person.

Merry Christmas! For us fall football camp was late August in Tampa, and it SUUUUUUCKED. Impressed with your leadership through the strike, and the balls of the strikers.

I’m not sure how I ended up on the naughty list for this joint but I can handle it.
First time no getting up early for opening. Weird.

Shit, but no shingles?
Hope our Canadian friends have a solid Friday.

Merry Christmas mates...
The two best Christmas gifts...GF getting the first dose of the vaccine yesterday, and we found out that her daughter Kelsey has made it through the quarantine period after testing positive completely asymptomatic, and will be able to come over this afternoon and spend the night tonight. It will be the first time she's been over here since March.

We watched 'Its a Wonderful Life' last night...my girls had never seen it, and it had been years since I watched it from start to finish.
Man...I'd forgotten just how hilariously dark that movie is. A few stray observations:
Man...I'd forgotten just how hilariously dark that movie is. A few stray observations:
- When Jimmy Stewart goes completely unhinged and starts yelling at his kids and at Zuzu's teacher on the phone, he looks so crazed.
- My favorite line...when Clarence tells Nick the bartender he wants either a flaming rum punch or a mulled wine, and Nick says 'We serve hard drinks to men who want to get drunk fast'.
- And then after that, when Nick is at the cash register, saying 'Look, I'm handing out wings' and ringing the bell
- When George is running down Main st after the change, Pottersville looks like a pretty happening place. I'd hang out in just about all of the places they show.
- Fuck stupid Uncle Billy. Fuck him forever.

Oh yeah...Mary Bailey was a hottie.
And one thing I noticed last night as well...Mr Gower's son died in the Spanish Flu pandemic. Hadn't noticed that before.

Merry Christmas everyone. You guys honestly are responsible for a huge part of my human-to-human interaction, and this year most of all. Thanks for the company.

Merry Christmas Swampers! As I mentioned in the doggie thread, you guys have given me 15 years of thoughtful entertainment (while I lurked) and I’m glad to have poked my nose out of my shell. Wish the best for everyone of you in 2021!

Merry Christmas you filthy animals!
And Dave, very happy for your GF getting to spend the night with her daughter on Xmas night after all this crazy shit.
And Mary Bailey the librarian can get it and has all the answers. That appeals to me. (As Mrs. Serrano is a librarian and she’s hotter than Rush)

Happy holidays, Swamp. I hope that everybody is coping as well as possible with whatever situations you're dealing with.
I didn't expect to spend part of my Christmas Swamping, but I'm glad I did. I Swamped, ate the traditional Christmas Feast of a bag of Cool Ranch Doritos and a jar of mayonnaise, and now I'm watching a bunch of 19-year-old Finns and Germans play hockey. I've had worse days.

Merry Christmas, All.
We’re watching it now ... yes Mary was stunning hot especially after the graduation party ... but it just dawned on me that she killed Peter Bailey.
She makes her wish and throws the rock at the old house. Her wish is to marry George. Ten minutes later, Peter is dead and George is trapped in Bedford Falls forever.

And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

And apparently oban means little bay. So it’s either oban oban or little bay little bay.

Many years ago when I travelled solo through the UK, I spent a couple of days in Oban. My B & B was real close to the distillery. Memories...

Re: Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas, y'all. Spent it with the family at the beach - honestly pretty much like several of our recent Christmases. It was (and still is) nice.
We watched Home Alone 2 for the first time the other night. It's funny in that it's nearly the EXACT same movie, with the same plot point as the first one, but just set in NYC instead of his house in Chicago. Still better than it had any right to be though.
Here's hoping for a 2021 filled with many fewer political posts and threads...

Belated.
but
wanted to wish you all a most sincere Happy Holiday however you do or don't celebrate. It's been nice tucking myself back into this place again after a long dry spell - I know I'm experiencing nothing unique in saying that this year has been horrible in a lot of ways for me but seeing all your "names" and reading along for a few months has helped so a big cheers to you all.

plus it's nice to see bapo! here :)

Re: Merry Christmas!
scrolling through this I read this as "a bottle of old bay" at first
"We're not the smartest people in the world. We go down the straightaway and turn left. That's literally what we do." -- Clint Bowyer
Re: Merry Christmas!
The big difference that makes the sequel worse than the original is its lack of heart. It's just slapstick. It misses the whole sub-plot of the original where little Kevin gets to know the old man next door and learns a lesson about judging people you don't know.
