Yup. She ain't bullshitting about security measures and having to have a spidey sense when it comes to out of place stuff -- especially on deployment.

Here's to her appreciating the chain of custody / chain of command on these things. Cuz this cat's out of the bag. It needs to be fed.

Sadly this won’t change the senators thought process but it’s good to see.
Re: The WH Transition Thread --- all things Trump to Biden until Inauguration
Good little thread by Maggie on the President and last night. Seems like he is in such denial and the next week could be rocky since he didn’t wanna fan flames of violence. Hopefully cooler heads will prevail. I’m still worried how dangerous he will become post-president.

So, assault but not murder (yet)?
I guess they don't have good video yet of the actual beating that killed the officer?

And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

Those three charged did that to a different officer than the one who was beaten to death.Steve of phpBB wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 11:40 am So, assault but not murder (yet)?

So the guy in the photo with a red fire extinguisher - that wasn't Sicknick being assaulted? (Just another assault on a cop by the Back the Bluers?)

Chester FD must be proud that he is wearing their logo while assaulting federal LEOs.

I thought fire departments and police hated each other. Did Rescue Me lie?!??!?!The Sybian wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 12:06 pm Chester FD must be proud that he is wearing their logo while assaulting federal LEOs.
You know what you need? A lyrical sucker punch to the face.
Re: The WH Transition Thread --- all things Trump to Biden until Inauguration
From the ones I know, they do, but in an uncomfortable sibling rivalry way. They'll kick the shit out of each other, but kick the shit out of you even harder if you fuck with the other.
Re: The WH Transition Thread --- all things Trump to Biden until Inauguration
Also, if you know the Philadelphia area, Chester might be the absolute last place you'd expect a white bigot to come from.

If we’ve learned anything, it’s that the only place we wouldn’t expect to have white bigots would be a place with no white people at all.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

I just looked and they've corrected. He was a Chester firefighter who lives (for now) in Upper Chichester.

It's a huge rivalry in NYC, but I love your sibling rivalry analogy. I think this is a thing in big cities, but I don't see it in smaller cities or towns. I'm sure it exists in some towns because of the individuals, but I think they more appreciate the partnership in a small town.

Yeah, FDNY and former NYPD are my reference points above. I learned they call the firefighters "hose draggers".

I'm sure you were all watching live, but I enjoyed watching this clip of Meghan McCain coming to the realization that her party IS the party of Trump and GOP Congressmen are disgusting shills.

Was it the Arizona Republican censure of her mother that helped her figure it out?

Looking forward to the crazies making the inauguration completely unsafe and then right wing politicians using low turnout as proof that Trump won.

They've completely shutdown the Mall for next Wednesday (probably on both days on either side, too).Square Rob wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 3:19 pm Looking forward to the crazies making the inauguration completely unsafe and then right wing politicians using low turnout as proof that Trump won.
So, I mean, I wouldn't put it past Fox to try and pull that, but it will be mocked ruthlessly.

Yeah, but the base will eat it up and not hear the other side. Trump will absolutely love it, not comprehending that healthy people don't care about stupid shit like who had the bigger crowd. He will either eat it up that he is more popular than Biden, or he will take pride that his deplorables ruined Biden's day.Nonlinear FC wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 3:34 pmThey've completely shutdown the Mall for next Wednesday (probably on both days on either side, too).Square Rob wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 3:19 pm Looking forward to the crazies making the inauguration completely unsafe and then right wing politicians using low turnout as proof that Trump won.

Re: The WH Transition Thread --- all things Trump to Biden until Inauguration
I couldn’t get past the stripper eyeshadow either, but she mentioned that a poll showed 30-odd percent of Republicans hope he forms his own party. That really would be the best thing, wouldn’t it? That would completely kill any GOP elective power. Am I being too optimistic?

Yeah, what nonlinear said, Pents. Everyone over in the DMV knows to avoid DC for the inaugural - all the politicians are asking people to steer clear.Nonlinear FC wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 3:34 pmThey've completely shutdown the Mall for next Wednesday (probably on both days on either side, too).Square Rob wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 3:19 pm Looking forward to the crazies making the inauguration completely unsafe and then right wing politicians using low turnout as proof that Trump won.

Re: The WH Transition Thread --- all things Trump to Biden until Inauguration
Not trying to be pedantic, but I'm on various regional security calls and stuff.. It's not just asking people to stay away, they have completely shut the Mall down to the public. Not a suggestion, a mandated stay off the damn lawn decree.
Talking about low crowd attendance for next week is pretty much the same thing as comparing crowd size at NBA or college games with Before Times crowd sizes. Just going to make the person making that argument look like a fucking moron.
Have it at. I'm done worrying about the Post-Factual idiots out there.

Re: The WH Transition Thread --- all things Trump to Biden until Inauguration
I think it would depend on what the Dems next move was. I'd love to see more than just two parties, but if the Trump right broke off and corporate money worked to merge the remaining Republicans with the center Dems, it could end up worse overall?L-Jam3 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 3:43 pm I couldn’t get past the stripper eyeshadow either, but she mentioned that a poll showed 30-odd percent of Republicans hope he forms his own party.
