15 runs down against the Phil’s last season even if they were up by 3. Sure, it’s been a cool few day and there’s 159 games left, but this Phanatic is gonna enjoy this weekend.
The Phils pitchers Saturday did something to the Braves that only happened 10 times previously since 1900. Other incidences include The Kerry Wood Game, Matt Cain's perfect game, and Max Sherzer's no-hitter in 2015 when he hit the 27th batter.

My avatar corresponds on my place in the Swamp posting list with the all-time Home Run list. Number 45 is Paul Konerko with 439.

In their opening series, the Braves sent the lead singers of Jethro Tull and Coldplay to the mound, as well as the Fresh Prince.

Zach McKinstry's HR last night was the first-ever inside the park HR for a CMU alum (and became only the seventh Chippewa to ever hit an MLB HR).

Wonder how many times an MLBer's first career HR has been inside the park? He was the first Dodger to do it since Duke Snider in 1947.

After four games against the Astros, the A’s are 0-4 with a run differential of -26. The fans were ready to heckle the Astros but it rings hollow when you’re getting pummeled repeatedly.

I mean, Castellanos removed himself from the situation entirely. He must have called the ump a cocksucker.

Whole fucking things started with what was clearly an intentional HBP that put him on base in the first place. And ended with the pitcher's knee on his back. That all he did was scream "let's fucking go" and flex was pretty goddamned restrained.

And, as always, Yadi Molina is a consummate bitch.

Guess which verb the ESPN article I read to catch up on what has TB so worked up used to describe Molina's actions in the photo above.

I bet you could get a Cardinals fan so worked up describing what some player did to Yadier, only to reveal at the end you flipped the actors.

That picture also shows the exact moment he bumped into and pushed the umpire out of the way to get to Castellanos, as he was walking away.

Against the team that didn't bother protecting him on the 40-man roster no less. Probably was very satisfying for the young man.

Aaron Boone...grow the fuck up. There's no conclusive way to overturn that call, the umpire you're bitching at didn't even make it, and you're still up 7-0 with 2 outs in the 9th.

Reds on pace to score 1,458 runs this season and this game isn't over yet.

It helps to play the Pirates as often as they do.

Tigers had bases loaded, one out in the sixth, down 3-2, Baddoo on deck. I wanted Jonathan Schoop to strike out because why wouldn't you at this point with a Rule 5 guy who seems to be on a steady diet of rabbits' feet (he threw Andrelton Simmons out at second earlier today).

Schoop lofted a fly ball to right. RF comes in around 6-8 steps to make the catch and throws it home, getting Miguel Cabrera by about ten feet... the second guy thrown out at the plate in the inning.

And, as I type this Schoop is up with two out in the ninth and the score is the same.

On the other end of the spectrum, the Cubs are batting .125 as a team (through nine innings today).

National League pitchers entered today with a collective BA of .132.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

Not according to the Mets announcers. What was reviewable was whether or not he was hit. It's a judgement call (non-reviewable) whether or not he stuck his elbow out to be hit.

I mean, the Mets' announcers were blasting Conforto about it. But MLB is powerless to stop an umpire from being an idiot.

Neat.

I thought I saw them go to the headsets. You could argue it was a misinterpretation of the rules since Kulpa was clearly making a strike call before he changed his mind. I think that would make the game protestable but not sure what the review rules for that would be.

Right. But they weren't reviewing Conforto leaving his elbow out over the plate. They were reviewing whether or not he was hit by the pitch.

It's another example of an umpire shitting himself and MLB's review system powerless to undo it.

Wait until warnings are issued to both dugouts the next time these two teams face each other, cuz Conforto is owed a 95 MPH heater to his ribcage.
