2nd Wedding Gift?
I'm going to a wedding tomorrow of a friend/coworker who's about my age and it's his second wedding. Not sure about his new wife (they actually got married last year, but are doing a public do-over tomorrow), but I think it might be her second time as well.
They're adults and don't need shit for a new house or anything. No registry, of course. What do I bring as a gift?

If it were me, a card and a small monetary gift, enough to offset the cost of the party some ($100? Maybe even a little less like $75? Depending on how close you are I guess).Shirley wrote: ↑Fri Aug 06, 2021 4:37 pm I'm going to a wedding tomorrow of a friend/coworker who's about my age and it's his second wedding. Wine or whiskey or both.
You know what you need? A lyrical sucker punch to the face.

I think you've entered into a good bottle of wine territory or if I was close friends with him, it'd be a good whiskey.

Re: 2nd Wedding Gift?
I'm inviting both of you to my next wedding. (whisky preferred).
I was just discussing with my wife that of all of the weddings we've been to, not one has ended in divorce. I'm with the majority, smaller gift is probably the norm. I'm also assuming smaller wedding since 2nd and COVID after-party.

I've stood up as Best Man or Groomsman for five different guys. Four of them got divorced. The Sybian wrote: ↑Fri Aug 06, 2021 5:34 pm I was just discussing with my wife that of all of the weddings we've been to, not one has ended in divorce.

I've been my father's best man twice. I guess the practice helped.sancarlos wrote: ↑Fri Aug 06, 2021 5:40 pmI've stood up as Best Man or Groomsman for five different guys. Re: 2nd Wedding Gift?
Yeah, I was thinking wine or whisky. You guys may have cemented that. A single bottle of wine seems kinda chintzy though, so maybe the nice whisky? On the other hand, I don't know for sure if they drink that. So, maybe I'll just go to a wine store and get help.

Fair. A bottle of each.

How about a subscription to the jelly-of-the-month club?
Re: 2nd Wedding Gift?
That’s something I should have given my brother at his 2nd wedding, just to mess with him.
First month: Grape!
Second month: Spermicidal!

I went with a bottle of champagne. I figured I wanted to spend about $100, so I got the closest one, more or less (Veuve Clicquot).
