World Cup of Anthems: Week 24

Welcome to Week 24. From Week 23, Morocco and Uruguay advance to Round 4.

Week 24, Round 3, Group 6 (Uzbekistan, Iceland, Egypt, Slovenia, Sweden, Fiji, Nigeria, Argentina)

Vote for as many as you want. Anthems are below, in most cases, I have tried to find a solo singer version. Voting is from Monday to Monday.

Bad batch.

I liked Fiji, hated Iceland (too much of a hymn) and Uzbekistan (no melody).

The rest were "meh" with Slovenia being the best of a bad lot.

And the unabashed pandering of singing a national anthem on "The Voice" is wild.

Pruitt - I don't know why but I'm LOLing at "Bad batch"

I actually liked Iceland, maybe for the reasons you don't - it actually doesn't sound like an anthem at all to me, more like the 7th movement of a longer symphony. Points. Also I like Iceland, so i'm probably biased.

My only other vote went to Slovenia - they get it right, keep that shit short and to the point. Feels like what an anthem should be.

Argentina has the best introduction of any anthem I have ever heard, I love the long build up at a full stadium during a rugby game, plus throw in a lass with a chipper voice and we're all happy...
