So I think any one of us could sue anyone in Texas for violating the abortion law, and not be subject to attorney fees. I suppose lawyers who file such lawsuits might be subject to bar discipline for bringing baseless claims. But any non-lawyers should be fine.(i) Notwithstanding any other law, a court may not award

Re: Random Politics
DOJ's lawsuit against Texas has dropped.
https://www.justsecurity.org/wp-content ... it-doj.pdf
They're reaching pretty hard to find a legally cognizable justification for the United States to sue the State of Texas on this. Among other things, DOJ is arguing that the Texas law impermissibly regulates the federal government by doing things like interfering with federal women's prisons providing abortions to inmates.
I hope like hell it will work, but ultimately those five Justices still hold all the cards.

Presented without comment except to comment that repeated compromising with or losing because of this guy will end up infinitely more damaging than simply losing without him. How many times do you let him shoot his hostage before you stop allowing him to take any?

Why the more progressive wing hasn't gone full oppo research against him is beyond me. The guy is beholden to the coal industry and his daughter helped to make sure EpiPen prices stayed expensive.

Oh, but we need judges! That's right.
