Nah, that was the most Lions way to lose ever. I'm just glad I watched it.

Re: Week 3
Kickers are insane now. The Arizona kicker missed a 68-yarder by what? A yard? Ran back 109 for a TD. Then Tucker makes a 66 yarder. Punters are punting the ball 80 yards in the air...
We'll see a 70 yarder one day. It will either be indoors, in Denver, or with a huge tailwind, but eventually it will happen.

Assuming they hold onto their 20-point lead on the Jets, the Broncos will move to 3-0. Of course, as a fan, this makes me happy. But, I have to take it with a gain of salt. Because, I have to wonder how often in the past did 3-0 teams get to do it against teams with an aggregate record of 0-9.

Hey you can’t go 20-0 without going 3-0.sancarlos wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 5:10 pm Assuming they hold onto their 20-point lead on the Jets, the Broncos will move to 3-0. his first start on the road at cleveland was a big ask - I didn't see any of it - but read that they only did a few planned rollouts or moving the pocket for him in 34 passes. that's...sub-optimal.DSafetyGuy wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 3:43 pm The Bears finished with 1 net passing yard in Justin Fields' first start.

These Brady/Belichick vignettes are just so over the top in prep for next Sunday night. They just played one to Adele's Hello.

Re: Week 3
Seriously fuck Gus Johnson. That's how he calls a 4-yard pass on 3rd and 25. If he lost his voice today and could never call another game, I'd consider 9/27/2021 one of the best days of my life.

Guess I'll shelve plans for a Gus Johnson Howard University Baseball jersey at Railbird.

I don't mind as long as you don't scream in my ear every damn move you make as if you're about to go backstage to meet Michelle Zauner. "OH MY GOD GIFF, THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE, I'M GOING TO GO REFILL MY WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Re: Week 3
I'm not going to bury Gus Johnson. I just want to take this opportunity that Kevin Harlan's skill in knowing when to up the vocal intensity is one of the reasons he's the best announcer in America.
My avatar corresponds on my place in the Swamp posting list with the all-time Home Run list. Number 45 is Paul Konerko with 439.
Re: Week 3
Yes, that is what normal announcers should sound like. Gus Johnson is a fucking hyperactive 4-year-old who should be muzzled.

Re: Week 3
Their line was remarkably bad. Their play-calling was exceptionally bad. As soon as the fell behind by ten points less than halfway through the third, Nagy abandoned the run. Cleveland went up 13-3. Chicago's first play after that was a run, then they called one more running play after that. And this today...tennbengal wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 8:13 pmhis first start on the road at cleveland was a big ask - I didn't see any of it - but read that they only did a few planned rollouts or moving the pocket for him in 34 passes. that's...sub-optimal.DSafetyGuy wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 3:43 pm The Bears finished with 1 net passing yard in Justin Fields' first start.
Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace suck.

Also, Peyton and Eli are straight to delightful comedy so far in this one. Eli in particular on fire - and giving Peyton hell for early pit stains. It's fantastic.

The nfl refuses to put a tracker in the ball, the goal line, or the yardage markers. It remains delightfully old school "eh, what are you gonna do" about such matters.
