If you want an idea how weird this week has been this Omicron thing might have literally made me about a half a million dollars and that probably not in the top 2 of interesting things to happen this week.

Missing out on seeing Johnnie (easily a #1 most weeks) might not be too 5. Promised to get him high as fuck after retirement though.

My father quit drinking some time ago. But, he made the effort before I arrived to go buy a bottle of Crown Royal for me to drink during my visit.

Not really drunk, per se, but I did feel obligated to put a good dent in it today.

My dad appreciates a good old school scotch, but he's pretty bold in his dismissiveness of the new bourbons. He's also reached the age where he can use a 'gout' card to not have a drop some days. He doesn't like it when I call him out on ordering shellfish the next day though.

Oh, and I’m really drunk. 2 brands of Rye, now drinking an amazing beer. Collective Arts Baltic porter aged in rum barrels with raisins, dates and prunes. So good. Smoky, roasted coffee, raisin and prune. Tastes a lot like long leaf chewing tobacco, my secret love.

Two days of christmas celebration with just my parents and MIL. no sister or her kids or my brother and his gf (they moved to LA).. lots of wine and scotch..Auchentoshan nice buzz going all day, helps with the 2month old having a tough time after his shots on thurs

Fort Point? I went there 2 years ago and it blew my mind. Previously hadn't been there since 2001, when it was a wasteland of mostly vacant industrial warehouses. Pre-COVID it was like a futuristic utopian hipster neighborhood. Add in all the Greenway park plots where it used to be highways running through, and damn, it's such a nice city! Living in Boston throughout the Big Dig debacle, it was amazing to enjoy the space after only knowing the shitshow it was.
