I have no problem with A Christmas Story specifically, but I do have a problem with the Midwestern stranglehold on Christmas movies, songs and iconography in general. Yo, it doesn’t snow everywhere on Christmas. It’s not even supposed to snow everywhere. I blame that fucker Dickens, who had it snowing in London even though that doesn’t happen. For some people, Christmas is the time of year where it’s actually nice enough to go outside! Yet those people are forced to stay inside and pretend it’s too cold! Change my view, to the extent you can discern one.

Christmas Story is boring as fuck.

Elf is our family's go to, but the relatively new Klaus on Netflix has moved into the "day of, just sitting around waiting to nap" staple.

I also like to put on one of the Die Hard's after everyone is down for the night. I don't have the 2nd or 3rd one memorized, so they keep me occupied until I conk out.

The six-year-old has joined the ten-year-old on the COVID list, though my wife and I are still negative. So we just figure now, if we get it, we get it, but we're not letting it take the Merry out of our Christmas. Still did family movie night and will be unwrapping around the tree in the morning. The kids chose Noelle (after Christmas Chronicles last weekend), and now the wife and I are enjoying some eggnog w/ the Captain while watching Scrooged.

Went over to the inlaws to take all of the gifts home. We usually go to their house with my wife's sister's family and my parents, but my daughter's exposure to at least 15 positive cases put an end to that. We are going to have the kids open presents with my inlaws over Zoom in the morning, then do an afternoon Zoom with everyone named above, my sister's family and my brother inlaws parents. On the plus side, I took a home test before going to my inlaws and tested negative. I'm wondering if wearing a mask at basketball games worked, since almost all the girls are positive and none of the coaches are. Coaches wear masks at all times during games, girls wear them walking into the gym only. OTOH, the other coaches are living with positive kids, one symptomatic one not. Surprised you can live with someone positive and not get it. I'd think being in a car would pretty much guarantee it.
