I get that Sean Mannion is, well, Sean Mannion, but surely the Vikings can get more than 30 yards of offense in a half even with Sean Mannion. Pretty cowardly play calling with your season on the line, you're probably gonna lose either way so you might as well take some chances.

As we breathlessly await the release of next week's time slots, I started to wonder if they will change this game 17 while it exists. Wouldn't it generate more interest if instead of an inter-conference game as the "extra" game they added a 7th division game? It would be decided by standings so you could have 1v3, 2v4, or whichever set order you want with higher seed home. Teams would know mostly their opponent after games on sunday. It would create odd number division and conference games for tiebreakers. The last week is within the division anyway. I realize the owners will eventually get their game 18 but this might be a carrot for the union to convince the owners this would generate more interest (money) to stave off the inevitable. Or I have too much time on my hands.

Somehow it's perfect. They want to lead by 7 or go to OT. They don't want to be up by 3 and have Maholmes start from the 25.
They held Mahomes to 3 points in the second half. Seems like an unnecessary risk.
They were correctly trying to not give the ball back to mahomes up just three.

He’s fine. He dinged right (non ACL) knee back against the chargers about a month ago and his foot got stepped on , on the last pass that resulted in the hands to the face penalty.

The Giants did a tremendous job of mailing it in after falling behind 14-0 yesterday. I mean, there was nothing about how they operated on either side of the ball that suggested the coaches or players really wanted to win.

Based on the reports of Judge now being granted input into the next GM, that was a showing of supreme confidence in his job security.

I know I'm late, but this is one of the funniest sports quotes of the last ... forever:

“I can tell you we’ve got more players here who are going to be free agents next year, who are in my office every day begging to come back. I know that. There are players who we coached last year that still call me twice a week, talking about how much they wish they were still here even though they’re getting paid more somewhere else.”

Not gonna lie. I’ve enjoyed the Roethlisberger era and will miss him on the field. But it’ll be a plus that he’s been unlikeable enough that if he’s been hedging things and does end up elsewhere next season that I’ll be able to laugh about it and not be at all pissed.

It'll be easier to laugh about it because his skills have declined through age and injury.

I get it, I was sad seeing a decrepit Patrick Ewing in a SuperSonics uni. More sad for him, it just looked wrong and he should have retired.

Have they mentioned how Ben was once suspended for 1/4 of a season for multiple credible accusations of sexual assault?

Well, yet another mini-montage ends with him throwing a putrid pick.

33 passes for 90 yards?

And he is not even the worst QB out there.

I know! I can't remember ever seeing an entire half of football where one QB was averaging 3.9 yards per pass and the other 2.8.

The Mannings were killing Tomlin for NOT calling a timeout until they realized he did. They wanted the crowd to get to cheer Ben off before the last play. Seemed like they got that chance after the INT.

Exactly. Was he going to pull him out and have Mason Rudolph do another kneel down?

I think sometimes people do silly things because they know it's what is expected of them. If that means someone out there lurches to their phone to log on to a message board to call you a d-bag, so be it.

After watching the deterioration of passers such as Ben and Rivers, it's pretty clear to me that Brady is on the best PEDs around.

The most stressful part after it went to 14-0 was hoping Glennon would at least get ten pass attempts, as I wanted him to avoid the penalty in FO's Loser League. He barely did.

I have heard it on some podcast that if the Steelers beat the Ravens and the Jags beat the Colts, then the Chargers and Raiders, who are playing each other make the playoffs with a tie on Sunday night football. Continuous kneeling by the Chargers and the Raiders would be epic...
