Blank ballots (without serious justification) and nonsense like "Kent only" should just get your ballot pulled. I don't care about throwing your 10th vote to Torii Hunter or whatever, but fucking with the denominator is for shitheads.

Hold on, I'm trying to see if Jack London ever gets this fire built or not.

So is no one guessing because it's obvious who it is?

I found this tweet amusing, but I put in the spoiler to not ruin things for anyone who wants to guess.

Did he explain this last year? Like, to pick one comp, does he think Rolen is dirty or that Kent was better than Rolen?

Together, they'd make a first ballot hall of famer. Also separate.

How anyone can vote for David Ortiz and not Barry Bonds or Roger Clemens is just ridiculous.

Re: The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum MMXV
You know, if David Ortiz took the time between now and the induction ceremony to share his steroids story to help educate the younger generation about the dangers of PEDs, it might bode well for the others caught on the wrong side of history here (ARod, Bonds, Clemens).
But as it stands, Cooperstown has been reduced to a joke. Ortiz can perhaps fix that.

Why would he do that. He and others got fucked over by the leaking of the Mitchell Report, which was supposed to be an anonymous test, with a vague "he's on the report," with no other information. Why's it up to him and not Selig, the owners, and the press who decided to look the other way during this era?EnochRoot wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 6:45 pm You know, if David Ortiz took the time between now and the induction ceremony to share his steroids story to help educate the younger generation about the dangers of PEDs, it might bode well for the others caught on the wrong side of history here (ARod, Bonds, Clemens).

Because nobody gives a crap about Selig or any owner (he'd do it to help get his contemporaries into the Hall of Fame).EdRomero wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 6:53 pmWhy would he do that. I'd put in Barry Bonds' drug dealer in before Pete Rose. Fuck him

This right here. I’d love to hear the arguments from even just one of the 47 guys who did this.
My avatar corresponds on my place in the Swamp posting list with the all-time Home Run list. Number 45 is Paul Konerko with 439.

What if they said "Clemens was fucking a kid when he was in his late 20s"? Because I'm ok with that reasoning.

Re: The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum MMXV
I’m agnostic on McGriff getting in but there’s only one guy of the other seven you can say he’s clearly more worthy than. And three where it’s not even close. And a few more in that bucket who aren’t in and weren’t on this ballot.
Re: The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum MMXV
Still one of the dumbest trades in MLB history for the Yankees trade him along with MIke Morgan, Dave Collins and Cash to the Blue Jays for Tom Dodd and Dale Murray.

Re: The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum MMXV
This is either going to be Helton only (a guy whose numbers are very arguably a Coors Field mirage) or no one, huh?

Re: The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum MMXV
According to the HOF tracker, Rolen is actually leading Helton with 50.8% of the ballots known. It looks like Rolen has 80% to Helton's 78%. Billy Wagner has been hovering around 71% so he needs over 78% of the unknown vote.
How do you all get your death notices since I left?
Re: The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum MMXV
He is, but the type of voter who doesn't submit to the tracker is the type who has the more regressive view of what a HoFer is. That'll favor Helton.
Re: The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum MMXV
NP with Rolen’s election to the HOF. Elite glove at 3B and a well above average bat with 300+ HR. That’s worthy.
