I think the gecko can still talk that tubby dullard’s pants off. Looking forward to the sequel to get closure in the plot.

When (and why) did restaurants start referring to their bread and other foods as being "oven baked"? Can you bake bread some other way, besides in an oven?"

It's like "freshly made" - a meaningless term that could mean that the food was microwaved from frozen.

Not to sound like a standup comic, but the one that gets me is "Made With __% Natural Ingredients"

There was a Rax in the town where I spent most of my formative years. I feel like it replaced the Burger Chef for its relatively brief run. I don't remember all the changes mentioned in the video (meatball pockets, pizza), so I suspect those came after this location went belly up.

I actually looked it up because she looks so hot in those commercials. She is 55!!! Surprised it was Berry, but once I realized I can't believe I didn't see it before. Maybe just not expecting a huge star to play a silent extra in a commercial.

Is anyone else bothered that now we get 'pre-commercials' to hype up for Super Bowl ads?

I'm talking about the ScarJo/Colin Jost ones for Amazon Alexa that ran incessantly during the Olympic coverage last night. And while we're at it...how much money did they pile on their front lawn for those ads? Do they now have a Scrooge McDuck money swimming pool?

I used to think the nadir of American society hit when I saw an ad for a teaser for a Super Bowl commercial featuring Kevin Federline (who was "famous" for being Britney Spears's ex-boyfriend and looked like if a literal douche transformed into a person), but that's been comfortably passed.

I don't love it and definitely avoid them on social sites, but it's pretty impossible to ignore during regular TV. The final versions will be slightly different maybe but I did like the good old days of seeing it live during game. But I'm guessing they reach even more people this way than during something a billion people watch.

I think the insane cost of a SB ad makes sense for the first time now. SB is about the only time all year I will ever see a commercial without fast forwarding on DVR. My parents used to record the SB to FF the game and watch the commercials.

It is also one of the few times that TV watching gets numbers when we have 3 VHF and 5 UHF channels to choose from.

And of course outside of M*A*S*H finale and Spinks-Ali the superbowl is the most watched broadcast.
