Just watched the incident - how on earth did this happen?
Also, it took the Everton security buffoons about 4-5 minutes to do anything. And then, a guy ran in from the stands to punch the protester who was surrounded by security and cops.
And no one thought to ask the medical staff for a pair of scissors?

Don’t see the point of continuing to pay Michael Keane when this guy will stand there for free

Premier League to allow 5 subs next season, must benefit the richer clubs with deeper squads

Re: EPL 2020/21
Chelsea forgot how to play defense over the international break.
Re: EPL 2020/21
Yeah, I think the 4-man back experiment might not last long. I only saw the first half and they were very sloppy, but held on. They weren't punished for some egregious mistakes by Alonso, Mendy, Loftus-Cheek, and even Silva. Got lucky. But the fates reversed in the second half.DaveInSeattle wrote: ↑Sat Apr 02, 2022 10:19 am Chelsea forgot how to play defense over the international break.
Totally Kafkaesque
Re: EPL 2020/21
Is that a tire track on the Everton shirts because they keep getting run over.
Re: EPL 2020/21
Was going to post something similar about Newcastle. The had a really nice goal from a free kick and I don't think they had another shot the entire game.
Let's go Crystal Palace!

When you lose to Burnley… Relegation battle getting more interesting.
ETA: Everton’s remaining schedule looks much more difficult than does Burnley’s, too.

Who thought that hiring Lampard was a good idea?
What an incredibly badly run team. And they've been spending cash too.

Re: EPL 2020/21
Not many people with less experience coaching in, playing in or even thinking about a relegation battle than Lampard.
Then again, who would want the job right now?
(Besides Bruce Arena.)

I will, against my better judgement, be this man for the right price.

Re: EPL 2020/21
I heard they’re looking for a college football coach.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

Allardyce is probably still on the payroll.

Hello, PETA? I want to report a seal clubbing in Southampton.
THERE’S NOTHING WRONG WITH GALA LUNCHEONS, LAD!
Re: EPL 2020/21
That was certainly more fun than the last couple Chelsea games.
I loved that Werner managed to hit both posts AND the crossbar in the first 30 minutes. The only thing missing was a goal or two called back because he was offside.

The Timo Hat Trick!
Boy, did ManU look absolutely dreadful against Everton. They are so checked out on the season.
Re: EPL 2020/21
I am astounded at how fucking good Spurs are playing right now.
They absorbed a good Villa half, made adjustments and came out and butchered them in the second half.

Repost what I said after the UNC/Duke game but even less cynical. Fun.

Not EPL, but an absolute howler by Steffen today at Wembley in the FA Cup semis.

Steffen playing like Lorus Karius. Dude looks horrible, and has me feeling really shit about the USMNT in WC2022.

Re: EPL 2020/21
I mean, with makes very little sense to start a keeper for a national team that doesn't start at club level, but it would be folly to say ZS wasn't previously leading the competition if healthy. Today was kind of unforgivable. Really had Karius in CL final vibes.mister d wrote: ↑Sat Apr 16, 2022 5:56 pmI’ll be shocked if he’s starting.govmentchedda wrote: ↑Sat Apr 16, 2022 10:18 am Steffen playing like Lorus Karius. Re: EPL 2020/21
Minus the probable concussion. I’m very glad I prioritized family shit over stay in to watch that one. Not quite sure I get saving the miles on Ederson but not the rest unless there’s an injury I haven’t read about?

Pep pretty much always plays his Cup goalie to the end, no?

Re: EPL 2020/21
He does, but I can’t imagine this current schedule is most difficult on that position. I’m not saying Steffen shouldn’t have played, I’m saying a lot of other guys should have also sat.

Re: EPL 2020/21
ahhhhh I read "rest" as "resting" in the context of you both did and didn't understand why he didn't play vs. the rest as the rest of the team

Re: EPL 2020/21
Unless I’m way off, I get that trophies are fun but it seems like Champions League and then the Premier League are way above FA or Carabao. Let some kids play in front of Steffen and if it works, it works. If not, who really cares?
