I imagine I'm the level just below elite (professional jugglers, olympic ping-pong players, etc) in terms of recovering and not dropping a bar of soap that slips out of my hands.

I'll challenge you to a not dropping soap in the shower contest. We can up the stakes by holding the contest in a prison shower. Not sure what the winner gets, but trust me, you do NOT want to lose.

In my experience, most of the Miami area doesn't remind you of what you'd think Miami would be like.

So, as choosy mothers know, awhile back they recalled certain lots of Jif peanut butter. Can't find Jif anymore at any grocery stores, or Target or Costco. I've now run out of my copious supply and I'm going through withdrawals. I bought some Skippy the other day and now I feel so cheap and tawdry - it's just not as good, dammit. Probably going to go to Trader Joes and buy some peanuts, honey and peanut oil, to make my own in the food processor.

My wife insists on buying fancy peanut butter that separates and you have to mix. I am not a fan.

Yeah, peanut butter should not be effort. PB&Co. is the gold standard.

Lazy ass mofos. Natural pb is worth the elbow grease. And more effective when you want to turn it into sauce for ice cream.

Turn the jar upside down when you get home, don't put it in the fridge, and leave it for 24 hours. the oil will start to seep through the PB to get to the top. doesn't mix it, but definitely helps. Fancy PB for life.

Well, shit. I was wondering why my wife did that with the jar of coconut chocolate peanut butter she bought. Lo and behold, it worked.

You'd think with a simple solution like that the manufacturer would just put the label on upside down or something.

If I put on a radio station and they played Killing in the Name on a loop with no commercials, I'd listen for a longer time without changing the station than the total amount of time I've listened to terrestrial radio in the past 7 years combined.

I could be misremembering, but when Hot 97 expanded to Boston from New York in the late 90s they played Tone Loc's Wild Thing for 4 straight days. It seemed like guerilla radio but it was clearly to build hype.

I haven't listened to commercial radio in about 25 years. I'm lucky to live in a city with the best radio station in the country (kexp) and two really good NPR stations (the one out of Tacoma plays jazz and blues).

When I lived in ABQ a station did this with Ween's Push The Little Daisies. When I saw SCK a few years ago there was a station in the Bay Area that was doing the same thing with Nelly's Hot In Herre (I just thought they played it a lot, and I was in the car the 4 minutes is was played or whatever.)

I listen to NPR and the local news, mainly for traffic and weather. I'll turn on sports talk once every month or so. I'm almost exclusively catching with folks on the phone or more likely listening to a podcast while in the car on my commute.

Google Maps eliminated the need for listening to traffic reports. I use Google Maps every time I drive to my daughter's soccer practice, and she makes fun of me for not knowing how to get there after god knows how many trips. It takes me a different route constantly. She stopped making fun of me when her teammate who lives in the same direction from the field showed up 30 minutes late because her father got stuck in traffic while we were on time.

This might sound ridiculous, but I just like to hear the news (including whatever traffic nightmare is a foot, because it tends to come up in conversation) and the news channel gives that to me in a nice 8 minute cycle on a loop. I only listen to one cycle and then move on.

I never go anywhere around here without punching it into my phone. I'm also the kind of commuting nerd I have 4 routes to/from work that I can switch to if needed.
