Re: To the extent it comes up: Trump crap post-WH years
I want to narrowly focus on Mulvaney. I have to admit, I was on a rabbit-hole tip today and watched MANY hours of coverage.
One of the things that stuck out to me was that Mulvaney totally started trying to be the "reasonable" conservative today, saying that "people that get their news form conservative outlets" are seeing this as a huge over - reach and he started listing a bunch of right wing anti-FBI/DOJ tear down points. Honestly it was bizarre.
He just burned all of his CNN credibility (believe me, he had some) for a completely ridiculous hail mary.
They are fucked.

Boy, I dunno. This story would mean that DOJ let Trump keep stolen nuke docs for 18 months?
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

Not if doj didn’t know what he had. Saw some stories about trump world decrying a mole in their camp - maybe someone saw what it was and called the fbi?Steve of phpBB wrote: ↑Thu Aug 11, 2022 8:43 pm Boy, I dunno. This story would mean that DOJ let Trump keep stolen nuke docs for 18 months?

(And its still never going to matter because no prosecutors, no matter how good, will find 12 people where atleast one isn't either already a Trump supporter or simply willing to see what saving his ass might get them!)

A Proud BoyAs Garland spoke Thursday, police in Ohio were engaged in a standoff with an armed man who allegedly tried to storm the Cincinnati office of the FBI. The man was killed by police later that day; authorities said negotiations had failed

Perhaps. But shouldn’t someone have noticed sooner that the docs were missing?tennbengal wrote: ↑Thu Aug 11, 2022 8:45 pmNot if doj didn’t know what he had. Re: To the extent it comes up: Trump crap post-WH years
The story I read is that someone not only called the FBI, but gave the location inside of Mar-A-Lago which is why they were able to retrieve. No idea the source or if it was true, but sure makes sense why it would be known but not acted on until right now?
Re: To the extent it comes up: Trump crap post-WH years
Which again doesn’t make sense because if he wanted that info but also didn’t want “all this”, just fucking scan it.
Re: To the extent it comes up: Trump crap post-WH years
As somebody else noted, he’s a fucking old man. They prefer to deal with paper documents.

I do get that and I hate watching video when I can read, but if I know I can be prosecuted for reading where video is infinitely harder to prove … I don’t know. Applying logic to illogic.
Re: To the extent it comes up: Trump crap post-WH years
Lol. The guy never faced consequences before, why would the possibility of being prosecuted ever enter the equation in his mind?

Re: To the extent it comes up: Trump crap post-WH years
Yeah but he’s always been concerned about leaving records that could incriminate him. Routinely tearing up documents, letting others do the emailing, worries about being wiretapped. He’s smart enough to know that with nuclear secrets, you don’t need originals. So scan and shred.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.
Re: To the extent it comes up: Trump crap post-WH years
When you consider the urgency of the search warrant, the reporting that it was a national security issue, including subpoenaed security footage to see who might have been at MAL, the nuclear thing begins to add up.

Facts don't matter until you fuck around with the FBI and DoJ.
The impeachment process and even J6 got nothing on the FBI and DoJ, especially when you go out of your way to fuck with them. Good luck with that.

Did I miss something confirming the documents are related to nuclear secrets? I believe Garland said it was something critical to national security, and a lot of randos were saying nuclear secrets, but now I'm seeing a lot of journalists saying nuclear. Did that come from somewhere, or is it just speculation?

I'll dig it up, but the WaPo has actual reporting on this, saying that's what the FBI was looking for... Not "that's what they found," but that it was in the search warrant/probable cause affidavit. The Sybian wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 10:29 am Did I miss something confirming the documents are related to nuclear secrets? Re: To the extent it comes up: Trump crap post-WH years
So their best defense here is that he mistakenly thought it was a good idea to take documents describing nuclear information out of the White House and to his private residence when he was no longer President, instead of simply leaving them. Which is perfect evidence that he was too fucking stupid, and continues to be too fucking stupid, to be President.
