Re: Board Maintenance
I'm done! The one thing I know is broken is the Profile Side Switcher extension. It hasn't been updated doesn't work on this version of PHPBB. We can either leave profiles on the right, like most phpbb boards, or I can get another extension that will let us switch it.
Can someone test posting to see if it works for you?

Re: Board Maintenance
I've posted twice (now thrice!), also in NFL Offseason and Site Admin threads.

Re: Board Maintenance
I got notifications for the last three posts (post-update), when I normally only got them for responses to my posts. I think I fixed the setting within my user control panel now though.

Re: Board Maintenance
Yeah, it may be that there were some small changes like that between PHPBB 3.1 (our previous version) and 3.3 (the new hotness).govmentchedda wrote: ↑Sat Aug 13, 2022 9:07 am I got notifications for the last three posts (post-update), when I normally only got them for responses to my posts. Yeah, is there an option to switch the view back the other way?
Reading left-to-right makes me have to judge the content of a post on its own merit rather than prejudging based on who posted it, which sucks.

Re: Board Maintenance
I’m not seeing this yet on my phone so I guess that’s good for as long as it lasts but we’ll otherwise just mandate that everyone start every post by explicitly introducing themselves or reposting their avatar.

Re: Board Maintenance
much much appreciated, Dave.
Re: Board Maintenance
Seems like we're working again. Sorry for the troubles. I was at our company conference, so it was bad timing for me to be checking on and fixing things.
BTW, it's not totally clear what the problem was. There's a setting on our website admin control panel where you can choose what version of PHP to use. It looked correct to me (set to use 7.4), but the site claimed it was using 5.6, which isn't supported. So, I tried switching it to 7.3 and that made it work right away. I then changed it back to 7.4 - exactly as it was 30 seconds earlier) - and it still worked. Not really sure why that needed doing, but essentially I jiggled the switch and that did the trick.

Thanks, Dave.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

Thanks, Shirley.
I, for one, am interested to see how posting habits here might change if Twitter does go in the tank.

And who's to say that wouldn't include a widget with scores?

Re: Board Maintenance
Do we need to do a Venmo thing to help with upkeep of the site?
I know it's not really related, but if someone is paying hosting/maintenance fees, seems like the collective could throw $5 a pop and cover it. Seems fair... (I hung out on another message board for many years and chipped in to cover hosting fees for that one... Not a big deal.)

Re: Board Maintenance
We've reached the point where the PayPal account will need some donations before next September to keep things rolling. It currently has $299.06 in it and the annual fee paid two months ago was $322.74.

Thanks Dave. I was blowing up Brian's phone yesterday when I woke up, forgetting until I hit send that he's 3 hours behind.
