In my HS that would have looked like 12th grade english. That could have easily been filmed in central ohio east of columbus about 18 miles or so...

Yeah. It looked like a hollywood depiction of a tougher high school (aside from looking about 5 years older than they actually are).tennbengal wrote: ↑Sun Aug 07, 2022 12:10 pm In my HS that would have looked like 12th grade english. Reminds me of a social media post where Zoomers saw videos like this and went "OMG, they look so old."
Then a few weeks ago, this video was suggested to me from VSauce.

My sister just shared a photo she found of my Dad in 1992 when he was 52. Yes, people for sure used to look older.

Re: Twitter:The New Batch
I think I posted about it in the 'shit that makes you feel old' thread, but I am about to be the age my step-dad was when he met my mom, 39. Looking at photos from that time and yea, he looked way old. But I remember friends of his looking not as old as he looked in my faded memories, so it really just seems like the times in which you live dictate what 'old' looks like.

There is something so enormously creepy about that. Like banishment from society awful.
Don't know if there are any twins on the board, and I don't want to offend anyone... but I have a good friend whose sisters are identical twins, and she told me that the twins would talk to each other in their sleep from separate rooms!
Perhaps an exaggeration, but still.
At least the babies know where they can get a kidney from.

And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

Corsicana gets a shoutout in probably my favorite Hayes Carll (Gates Carlo to the initiated) songs, "Rivertown."blundercrush wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 1:50 pm warning: dusty af

So I sent this to a neighbor from Corsicana and this was her response:blundercrush wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 1:50 pm warning: dusty af

Very cool…she was a true gem to the city. Her name was Babette Samuels (we are/were FB friends)…the R is her daughter Robin. I grew up going to temple with she and her late husband, Irvin…and my stepdad’s name was Erwin so people confused them often. My stepdad is buried in the cemetery she looked after…she lived a long life and no one in that town ever had a bad word to say about them.
And the funeral home they were at is run by my 6th grade bf’s family. Small town shit

Re: Twitter:The New Batch
what was the song?
Re: Twitter:The New Batch
I just had my wife read it. I was behind her when the song started and now we're in tears at the "dry humping" I did to the song.

Maybe not the most appropriate time to swamp?

I’d argue it was the most appropriate time.

Does someone with 1.3 million followers just decide he has to snipe at one a day or something?

He shit, hard, on the O's in April and May, and is pretending in september he didn't do that. Shit on their version of the process, etc, and then they started to win and O's fans won't let it go. Which I support. Olney is a doofus.DSafetyGuy wrote: ↑Tue Sep 06, 2022 5:34 pm Does someone with 1.3 million followers just decide he has to snipe at one a day or something?
Re: Twitter:The New Batch
Well, in fairness to the situation (not necessarily involving Olney), Elias didn't get back nearly enough for the value that Jorge Lopez represented to Baltimore's postseason chances.tennbengal wrote: ↑Tue Sep 06, 2022 5:49 pmHe shit, hard, on the O's in April and May, and is pretending in september he didn't do that. He also publicly shit on the O’s for giving Mussina’s uniform # to Rutschman this year when it was been worn by multiple members of the team since Mussina left and he never complained then.EnochRoot wrote: ↑Tue Sep 06, 2022 5:54 pmWell, in fairness to the situation (not necessarily involving Olney), Elias didn't get back nearly enough for the value that Jorge Lopez represented to Baltimore's postseason chances.tennbengal wrote: ↑Tue Sep 06, 2022 5:49 pmHe shit, hard, on the O's in April and May, and is pretending in september he didn't do that. I was ok w the Lopez deal. Getting 4 arms back for a 28 year old former starter with a 5 ERA who happens to have gotten hot this year as a closer. But I trust that Elias knows what he’s doing and I don’t.

Re: Twitter:The New Batch
I mean, sure he's good at what he does, but he still traded a badly needed commodity for this year's playoff chances in hopes to catch lightning in a bottle a few years down the road.bfj wrote: ↑Tue Sep 06, 2022 6:47 pmHe also publicly shit on the O’s for giving Mussina’s uniform # to Rutschman this year when it was been worn by multiple members of the team since Mussina left and he never complained then.EnochRoot wrote: ↑Tue Sep 06, 2022 5:54 pmWell, in fairness to the situation (not necessarily involving Olney), Elias didn't get back nearly enough for the value that Jorge Lopez represented to Baltimore's postseason chances.tennbengal wrote: ↑Tue Sep 06, 2022 5:49 pmHe shit, hard, on the O's in April and May, and is pretending in september he didn't do that. As for Moose? Angelos was an ignorant son of a bitch when it came to the proper valuation of starting pitching.
