Friday Discussion: Your Personal Brand Loyalties

It's funny, I couldn't come up with a single brand that I am a real die hard for. In many categories, there are 2 or 3 or 4 brands I'll buy. Which Toilet Paper? Which of the 4 are on sale.

But when I smoked, I was a die hard duMaurier man.

Definite brand loyalty with them.

I am in the same boat as Pruitt, no barnd loyalty. Except, when I decide I need a pinch between my cheek and gum, it has to be Skoal long cut.

• Outerwear: Patagonia

• Drip Coffee: Peets - No Starbucks in my house. Fuck Howard Schultz (and David Stern, Greg Nichols, and Clay Bennett)

Patagonia stuff really is made well and they seem to be one of the few companies that actually gives a fuck about the earth. I endorse!

There's a local family-owned grocer here that makes and sells their own pasta sauce. It is unequivocally the best sauce I've every tasted. But, it is also too frickin' expensive. But, a lot of times, they run a special where you get a free container of fresh pasta if you buy a jar of sauce. That's the only time we buy it.

I got a recipe from my Italian friend that's super quick and damn tasty. (Sauté a couple of cloves of garlic and onions in oil, add to 2 cans of crushed tomatoes - salt, black pepper, parsley, basil, oregano, and parmesan) Since I've been WFH it's basically the only sauce I use.

(Though we are still in the plain noodle stage of kids and the wife only goes for pasta when she's about to go on a big run.)

My GF's daughter was an intern at their headquarters in Ventura a few summers ago. They definitely walk the walk. (and it looks like an awesome place to work. They would cancel meetings to go surfing!)

I guess I missed this thread when it started so I never added anything.

I almost always wear Adidas sneakers now. Even went with them for golf shoes (spikeless) and they're my favorite pair ever.

Heinz Ketchup for sure.

I guess Im a full on apple fanboi at this point too. iPhone, Macbook(granted I didn't pay for that),watch, airpods, ipad for reading.

Odyssey putters, but that's probably more related to really liking the one I have (shut it, Sabo and Mulligan) more than continuing to buy. I have two of the exact same model, one in cold storage (OK, garage) until it is needed.

Ps5, but not really tied into anything other for Sony. just the console.

Brands I specifically avoid: Greg Norman (a new development!).
