Sorry again for the long hiatus on RimWorld. It's something I've really enjoyed doing for everyone here, but eventually I hit a creative wall and the grind of pulling together the regular updates felt kind of overwhelming, so I put it aside for a while. I still may get back to it someday, but in the meantime, I've been working on a new project I hope everyone will enjoy as much as RimWorld, with the bonus of the potential for more interactivity.

What I'm working on is a sort of Swamp-themed role-playing game, in which the player journeys through a fantasy world populated by Swampers' alter egos, and goes on quests full of references and in-jokes we've developed over the years.
So, what is this game?
I'm building this project in Neverwinter Nights, a game that is 20 years old but still has a thriving community, thanks to its robust editing tools that enable players to create custom adventure "modules" to share. With the editing tools, you can create expansive custom worlds, characters, stories, quests, and dialogues. It essentially gives players the ability to create their own "game within a game" more than just about anything ever released.
If you're not familiar with this type of game, think of something like a cross between a Legend of Zelda-type adventure game, and a game like Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley where you interact with characters and follow different storylines.
My goal is to eventually make this into a functioning game module you can download and play yourselves if you wish, but if you'd just like to follow along here, I'll be posting various updates and storylines RimWorld-style.
Game Plot
I'm still hashing things out, but so far the overarching plot goes something like this: The player is a lone adventurer who arrives in the town of SwampVille, populated by the denizens of this board. The Swampers seek the player's assistance in the fight against the Domain Trolls, who wish to revoke the Swampers' deed to the domain based on the accusation that they no longer possess the legendary relic known as the Front Page. The player sets forth on a grand quest to retrieve the Front Page and save SwampVille. Along the way, the player will venture on a variety of side quests assists and rescuing various Swampers who serve as companions.
As mentioned in the other thread, this is the most ambitious game thing I've done so far. It's going to take a while and will be something I work on an off-and-on basis, but should still result in some hopefully entertaining updates along the way.
