But as long as she's voting for Dem bills and for judges Biden appoints, she's still the clearly superior choice to any Republican who would be running against her.

(Still think she should resign and let Newsom appoint a replacement who's 130 years younger.)

In fairness, this happens a lot on the other side, too (although probably without the compliment for the other candidate).
Fair. Though my comment was political party independent.

I could never run for office because I'd have to rely on the vote of idiots like that guy. And people like him are so abundant everywhere. The average American is so fucking stupid.

While this bothers me, we’ve gotten to the point that I have to vote this way. When I don’t like the Dem candidate for US Senate or House, I have to vote for him. Hell, I didn’t want Biden, but I had to vote for him. I agree with Steve, you’re a fool to vote for the better person if they will tow the GOP line. I’d vote for a Walker level idiot if he ran against Ted Cruz and would be a water boy for the Dems. Hopefully Dems can put up better primary candidates. Problem with the GOP, a sane, sensible person can’t win unless they call for crazy extremist shit.

Registered as an independent. It is such a nakedly selfish move. It does nothing to change how she is voting, it doesn’t change the power/control base of the senate (though does give Manchin actually a little more power). All it does is give her publicity. Arizonans can see right through that, but honestly she was likely to lose her primary. Maybe I’m his is her only path to keeping a seat, but I just don’t see her winning running as an independent.

Can’t wait for her to act as a single issue senator, continue to run interference for vc interests, then leave office and make a billion sitting on boards for the various vc’s she protected.

But if she does run in 24 as an independent, she’ll basically hands the seat to the Rs. And the Dems have so many vulnerable Senate seats already. So she’ll be able to continue holding the Dems hostage.

She needs to be introduced from now until time immemorial as “Kyrsten Sinema, who had the opportunity and power to protect the right to vote for Black Americans but chose not to”.

Fuck her so much.

I don't think I agree. If it is a 3-way race, I don't see Dems voting for her. She splits votes with the far right Repub candidate in that scenario and the Dem should have quite a good shot.

well, yeah. But so will the other two candidates. I cannot imagine votes for her from the dems in significant numbers at all in a 3-way race scenario in any event. More likely to draw "moderate" repub votes and split that side of race in my view.

I dunno. Hasn’t it been moderate Republicans and Independents who’ve been voting Dem and giving the Dems their (razor-thin) wins in AZ since 2018?

Plus I don’t know that the low-information voters (the vast majority) are mad at Sinema. It’s mostly just liberal political obsessives like us.

Oh for sure. I don’t think it’d be hard to stop Sinema from winning again. The hard part is replacing her with another Dem in a state where Dems are nowhere near a majority.

(Edited because I’m a fuckup.)

right. That. I will need someone to really explain to me her path in a 3-way race given how much she is disliked generally.

I think the path is that right now she's viewed favorably by 37 percent of the electorate - which isn't a horrible starting point for a three way race.
Then she bumps it up a few points by being a mavericky independent for two years, and wins with 40-45 percent of the vote.

Though I really don't think it's likely she'd win a three-way race - I think she'd just make a Republican win more likely.

And Ruben Gallego was already going to primary her bitch ass.

She's a fucking scumbag. And here I was laughing when Pence had to swear in a bisexual atheist when she got won.

And now she's laughing to herself.
