oh man <bows> you were there, that's awesome. I'll take credit between my cousins as we were watching on tv in Boston and i insisted on keeping the game on as they wanted to bail for a college basketball game. i remember saying something like "if it ends here i want to watch the whole thing"
(i was at all 3 AFCC games in Buffalo tho!)
Van's voice definitely gives me goosebumps - irrevocably tied to the franchise for me as i'm sure a million others.

might just be for you and me Pruitt - alas I couldn't find on youtube (???) so here's an annoying facebook link but worth it to hear Van again - "FANDEMONIUM!"
We don't have a thread for terrible sportswriting, but I wanted to note this brief part of an article from the Chicago media, just for the amount of work the word "simple" is doing:

Hey BFJ, what's your take on Lamar? They indicated last night that people in the organization were convinced he was good to go last night and not playing due to no contract?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an NFL kicker miss three extra points in a row. Guessing it’s never happened before.

Allow me to point out that Mark Moseley missed 3 XPs during the 1982 season, and was the MVP of the entire league.
And that was when an XP was still supposed to be more or less automatic.

Holy shit. This is impossible!
How do you all get your death notices since I left?

Good, he made an extra point. We can go back to talking how terrible Brady is tonight.

He was straight garbage.
I was shocked at how badly he was missing some throws. I turned it off early in the 3rd because sleep was more important than that shit, but he looked pretty bad from what I saw.
You know what you need? A lyrical sucker punch to the face.
That game turned early on whatever the fuck that attempted throwaway was in the red zone with the bucs down 12-0 that turned into one of the worst INTs I've ever seen. He didn't want to get hit and didn't take care to throw it fully away I guess? Look, I'm 52 and I wouldn't want to get hit either, but, yeah, hire a 45-year-old to that position and this kind of thing become possible. Plus, he's still a dick. Why are teams lining up for more of that at age 46?

I watched the first one against the Raiders in a hotel room in Vancouver. 11:00 in the morning and I was already jumping on the bed and throwing things in celebration.
Was at the Broncos and Chiefs AFCC games. Man, those were great days.

Whatever you think about Tebow that was a great finish
I really needed that. My brother had just died, and our whole family needed something positive at the time. (although it was still hard to get too happy.)

Yeah, Tebow really was a sanctimonious asshole so I get it.
