oh man <bows> you were there, that's awesome. I'll take credit between my cousins as we were watching on tv in Boston and i insisted on keeping the game on as they wanted to bail for a college basketball game. i remember saying something like "if it ends here i want to watch the whole thing" :)

(i was at all 3 AFCC games in Buffalo tho!)

Van's voice definitely gives me goosebumps - irrevocably tied to the franchise for me as i'm sure a million others.

I have a t-shirt with one of his sayings - "Un-BILL-eivable!"

And I was at that game. Just got the goose bumps seeing those two highlights.

We don't have a thread for terrible sportswriting, but I wanted to note this brief part of an article from the Chicago media, just for the amount of work the word "simple" is doing:

Hey BFJ, what's your take on Lamar? They indicated last night that people in the organization were convinced he was good to go last night and not playing due to no contract?

That was a great play by Kearse halting his backwards momentum so he wouldn’t Orlovsky out of the end zone on that pick.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an NFL kicker miss three extra points in a row. Guessing it’s never happened before.

How about four? He missed after the only Cowboys TD last week as well.

Allow me to point out that Mark Moseley missed 3 XPs during the 1982 season, and was the MVP of the entire league.

And that was when an XP was still supposed to be more or less automatic.

Is this Maher’s long-lost twin brother who beat him up and stole his uniform? How does an NFL kicker miss 4 XPs in a game and 5 in a row?

Now it's 5 and 4 in one game. The latter is a record for sure.

The Cowboys have to hire a new kicker for next week, don’t they? (Assuming they win this game.)

I was shocked at how badly he was missing some throws. I turned it off early in the 3rd because sleep was more important than that shit, but he looked pretty bad from what I saw.

That game turned early on whatever the fuck that attempted throwaway was in the red zone with the bucs down 12-0 that turned into one of the worst INTs I've ever seen. He didn't want to get hit and didn't take care to throw it fully away I guess? Look, I'm 52 and I wouldn't want to get hit either, but, yeah, hire a 45-year-old to that position and this kind of thing become possible. Plus, he's still a dick. Why are teams lining up for more of that at age 46?

I watched the first one against the Raiders in a hotel room in Vancouver. 11:00 in the morning and I was already jumping on the bed and throwing things in celebration.

Was at the Broncos and Chiefs AFCC games. Man, those were great days.

The "Oh yeah... Wait" Stat of the day.

The only QB that the Broncos drafted who won a playoff game for them is Tim Tebow.
