Good lord, that is the most terrifying story. Dude was flying Mach 3 when his plane started tearing apart. It went into such a violent spin, both men aboard lost consciousness. The pilot regained consciousness to find himself with no control over a plane breaking apart around him and his visor completed covered in ice. At that point, I'd say the other guy who never regained consciousness was the lucky one, but the pilot somehow survived.

Along with the Oscar nominations yesterday came the Razzies nominations as well, in which they originally nominated 12-year-old Ryan Kiera Armstrong. After a swift backlash, they rescinded it and instituted a rule to take effect immediately of no longer nominating anybody under 18.

HA! It is kind of uncanny.

My daughter is an avid reader. To the point that she often encounters and learns words without knowing how they are pronounced. I try not to make fun of it, because the fact is, she knows what the word means.

I had this issue when I was younger and the one word that I can't "fix" in my head is biopic. I know how it's supposed to be pronounced but my head wants to say by-OP-ick.

Fuck, that's how I pronounce it. My son has always been a reader and read books well beyond his grade level, so there have been a number of times he throws out a word and it's like a record scratching while I try to figure out what word he mangled. Wish I could think of an example...

Watched The Batman with Robert Pattinson. It was very, very good. I liked it a lot.

I haven't researched it, but I'm hoping there's a sequel.

I have a couple of friends that I often want to go Colm on, and so I related to that character on so many levels. That movie gave me so much anxiety.

You People was pretty solid 4 stars. Eddie Murphy showed some nice acting chops and Weird Jonah Hill still can act.
Shotgun Wedding was a perfect stupid movie to have on while paying bills.

All quiet on the western front was underwhelming some really cool cinematography shots but overall not impressive as a war movie, despite the authors anti war intent.

I re-read the book awhile ago, so I looked forward to the movie. Of course, I knew what was coming but I still had to give up before the film was half over. Just unrelentingly grim.

Way back when the MCU still seemed like it was figuring shit out I had the theory that the first Guardian’s movie should have ended with Thanos just absolutely wiping them out to establish his bonafides.

Instead they played the long game and Thanos when he finally showed up was great and they made two GOTG sequels and billions and billions.

But if they want to setup their next big bad wouldn’t killing an Avenger be a good move…?

Shotgun Wedding seemed like a vehicle mainly to show off the fact that J-Lo still has an incredible body. Which, you know... That's cool and all.

Other than that, a very very silly - not great movie.

Came across Them That Follow on Kanopy which turned out to be a pretty good take on a "girl trying to escape her evangelical, snake-handling upbringing" joint but what surprised me was Jim Gaffigan as support in a dramatic role. He can play a simple yokel pretty well.

[+] spoiler: Haven't seen it since 2nd year university (1983), but one of the greatest scenes in film history is when one of the characters says something and ends it with "I swear on my mother's life" and there was an immediate cutaway to an old woman clutching her chest and dropping dead. Never seen her before in the movie and her death was never mentioned, but not only was it hilarious, but it revealed the guy's character in 3 seconds flat.
