I'm hoping a lot of shitheads like us were claiming Diamond died from the vaccine because "healthy people that age don't just die so she must have secretly taken it" or something.

I somehow missed that Diamond had died. Of COVID.
I'm not dancing on anyone's grave, but considering their grift and their use of their pulpit to promote their belief that COVID was a hoax ... well, it's pretty close to funny.

Pretty close to funny is when she was rumored to be sick with Covid. This is all the way there.

Pavel Bure's best friend, kind of like Gretzky and Semenko There are a few good stories about him. One was from the Athletic about how Gino went to Russia but didn't tell anybody because he wanted to surprise Bure so nobody picked him up at the airport. He went to the KGB office (why?!) and told them he was there to see Pavel. The KGB, after seeing his face with the scars, answered the door with machine guns.

On July 3, 1965, an incident of pregame horseplay occurred around the batting cage between Frank and Richie Allen before a contest with the Cincinnati Reds. Several versions of what happened have been given. The website www.BaseballLibrary.com states that Thomas swung a bat at Allen during a disagreement. It has been said that Thomas used racial slurs; both would “bury the hatchet” years later.

I grew to really REALLLY dislike him over the years. He was just relentlessly negative. It's something I've picked up on with a few other announcers across sports: They try to sound smart by cutting down the defense, when in many instances it was a great play by the person with the ball that should be highlighted.
Next time you're watching a PL match, listen to the color guy... A LOT of them do this.
Anyways, in the last 4-5 years of his career Packer made Final 4 games almost unwatchable. Contrast him with Rafferty if you want to really find the polar opposite.
Hate to shit on the guy in this context, but, honestly... He could've been less of an asshole, commenting on a bunch of young adults for a living. (And while he's not alone, sucking off college coaches constantly - who are all millionaires - and shitting on players sure didn't sit well with me.)

The last few years of his working career, Packer just seemed miserable on the mic. One of my least favorites and a sharp contrast to color people like Raftery or Bilas, who inject levity while still delivering top-notch analysis. The game is entertainment to TV viewers.
