That sounds awesome.
She likely will too.

Nice. We’ll be there to see her in March. Looking forward to that and of course meeting up with Brian and Rams Fan if possible again.govmentchedda wrote: ↑Sat Jan 28, 2023 5:35 amShe's got pipes. Fantastic show.

Re: The Live Music thread...
I saw her with my daughters a few years back. And yeah, she can belt out a tune...but my reaction was "shut up and sing". She did a whole lot of chatting between songs...not about anything in particular, just banter, which for me got old pretty quick.govmentchedda wrote: ↑Sat Jan 28, 2023 5:35 amShe's got pipes. Icons week for me continues with the Boss opening up his tour in Tampa tomorrow night. Seats aren't as amazing as my ones for Adele, but I can't wait to see him again.
Adele really was an amazing experience. Can't stop thinking about it.

Re: The Live Music thread...
Really good, not great. I would've chosen a much different set list, but it's the fuckin' Boss and his catalog could fuel a 12 hour concert, so he gets a break. Dude is 73, and the rest of the main band (except Jake Clemons) has to be about that age as well. If we grade on that curve, it was A+. Without that help, it was probably a B. That it was the first show of the tour could've been a factor as well. That, worse seats, and being floored by the Adele show less than a week ago.Giff wrote: ↑Thu Feb 02, 2023 1:42 pmHow was it?govmentchedda wrote: ↑Tue Jan 31, 2023 10:45 am Icons week for me continues with the Boss opening up his tour in Tampa tomorrow night. Is bell was great. The venue was a bit weird but overall a strong show.

Lucero this Friday at Tipitina’s in NOLA. Will be my 8th state I’ve seen a Lucero show in.

I'm going to see them at the Fillmore in April. But, I haven't found anybody around here who wants to go with me. Want to come up for another show?

Was thinking about hitting the show in Tahoe the night before so could maybe try to hit both. I’ll have to see how the next few weeks goes af work.

Haven’t tried to buy tickets day of sale for I don’t know how long. Any tips/tricks? Youngest wants to see Lovejoy (off my radar) and the show at the TLA in Philly seems the best bet (either that or Governor’s Ball, which ugh), on sale tomorrow AM.

Always look for a presale code or fan group, but you may be too late if regular tickets are on sale tomorrow.

To glom on if you have a Citi credit card those often have presales. They probably have a deal with Live Nation/TMgovmentchedda wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 7:33 pmAlways look for a presale code or fan group, but you may be too late if regular tickets are on sale tomorrow.

Brian and Ben wear glasses now and Rick Steff needs a cane to go around and talk to fans after the shows but Lucero still fucking wails.

Hell of a show by Margo Price tonight at the Fillmore in San Francisco. In addition to tons of her own great stuff, she covered Jefferson Airplane (White Rabbit), Elvis Costello (Pump it Up), Paul McCartney/Wings (Let Me Roll it), and Janis Joplin (Mercedes Benz ).

Her new album is really good. Would love to see her next week, but we're going out of town.sancarlos wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 3:06 am Hell of a show by Margo Price tonight at the Fillmore in San Francisco. Did she play the drums? She took a turn on a drum kit last time we saw her.
Re: The Live Music thread...
Yeah, she had her own separate drum kit. Played drums on a couple different songs. Definitely a rock show, not a country show. She played all her upbeat stuff, not many of the more quiet songs.DaveInSeattle wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 10:41 amHer new album is really good. Re: The Live Music thread...
Saw Springsteen last night. Great show, as expected.
The GF and I always joke about being the oldest people at shows (she always says that she is definitely the oldest woman there)...definitely not the case last night. The two women sitting in front of me were easily in their 80's, and every time they had to stand up to let someone out of the row, I thought they were going to keel over.
Highlight for me was 'Trapped', which I read was the first time it was played on this tour.

Re: The Live Music thread...
After Foo Fighters got canceled last year with Hawkins' death, I never found a replacement concert to go to last year. Well, finally trying again for this summer. Just secured tickets for Head & the Heart + Revivalists at the Skyline Stage at the Mann in July.
How do you all get your death notices since I left?
Re: The Live Music thread...
I can probably get free tickets to this show if anyone wants to see it in Vegas (and would have to hang out with me).Reaper wrote: ↑Thu Mar 02, 2023 9:08 am After Foo Fighters got canceled last year with Hawkins' death, I never found a replacement concert to go to last year. Is there a less Stubhub-y and more fan face value site for ticket selling? Due to "unforeseen events" (they added a lot of shows), I have 2 tickets to see a band in Philadelphia that I could now see in the city for less than the cost of traveling to Philadelphia.
Re: The Live Music thread...
Craigslist was my go-to...but the last time I did that I was handing them physical tickets.mister d wrote: ↑Wed Mar 15, 2023 2:50 pm Is there a less Stubhub-y and more fan face value site for ticket selling? You know who has money now? the kids that couldn't go see them when they were popular. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug.

Sure but guessing Big N Rich with Cowboy Troy or Tracy Byrd or others must have been available.A_B wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 10:55 amYou know who has money now? the kids that couldn't go see them when they were popular. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug.
Re: The Live Music thread...
The Cure rules.
How bad were the fees? They were 50 percent of the ticket price for lawn seats at their upcoming show in Cleveland. $30 tickets ended up costing $45.20 each.

Is this for the Walkmen? Give me a week or so and I may able to take them off your hands if you want to avoid all the apps/sites. (I've gotta wait for kids sports schedules to come out, which was supposed to be earlier this week but hasn't happened yet)wlu_lax6 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 10:43 amCraigslist was my go-to...but the last time I did that I was handing them physical tickets.mister d wrote: ↑Wed Mar 15, 2023 2:50 pm Is there a less Stubhub-y and more fan face value site for ticket selling? Next weekend I’ll be in Brian’s backyard to see Adele for the second time in less than a year. Also catching John Mellencamp, because this is our country.

I just tried to buy Cure tix for Merriweather this summer.
They’re $101 apiece before fees. LAWN.
That’s twice as much as they were when we saw them at the same venue seven years ago.
$250 for two lawn tickets, and it’s not an aftermarket purchase.
