Could you trace the fall to a lack of concentration or do you not know why you went down? I've taken 3 falls the past 3+ years and each one I was like, yeah that was dumb and I could have avoided it had I been paying attention.
Lack of concentration. End of run and deciding if I could jaywalk...and I'm vaxed.
How's the pinkie holding up?
I'd trade in a pinky to replace the pain I'm feeling today.
Sorry to hear that. Hope your feeling better today.

Appreciate it. Finally went to a doctor and it's a bruised rib, which might take awhile to recover. Sleeping sucks

Anyone ever do a juice cleanse? Seems like it would either be the worst or a nice little reset at a time when we've eaten less-than-perfectly.

Something different and I do better with extremely rigid rules like "dry January" and "no red meat at all for 16 months". Only a beer or burger on Saturdays would never last. Plus I guess there's a weird curiosity about what'll feel like to not eat for three days.

I guess I forgot about it, but our last night was sushi at a place called Sugarfish literally 800 feet from our hotel. I guess it's decently well known, but is very affordable. They had platters that you just picked and they brought everything out one at a time. It was amazing. The tuna sashimi with a ponzu may be the best single food I've ever eaten. I'm hesitant to get a lot of Nigiri in Lexington, but no hesitation and it was outstanding. Chef is Nozawa and there's several in the LA area and a few in NYC, I guess. It didn't feel like a chain at all.

So, the move to France has done wonders for my health. I’m officially down 20lbs, and all the bike riding has me back in decent shape again. Still not where I would like to be fitness wise, but I only have five more pounds to get to my goal of 195.

Fwiw, I haven’t changed the quantity of what I eat. I fee it’s a combination of the total lack of processed foods, much more veggies, and a lot less beer and red meat. Also no fast food at all. But twenty pounds is a lot in three months, considering I wasn’t really obese. I really don’t know what’s in our food in the us but it’s killing us.

I post this with a lot of trepidation because in 6 months - a year it could all be for naught. But…as of this morning, I am down 65 lbs since October 2022 (340 to 275 this am).

BFJ, you should be proud now and don't worry about what will happen in the future. That is a hell of an accomplishment.

Fair enough. Other than my wife and mother and one friend who lives out of town, I’ve told/shared this w/nobody. It kills my wife who has also lost a bunch of weight. I don’t want the pity looks when it all comes back, so I won’t even discuss it with anyone. This fees like a safe place for me since I know I won’t ever see any of you anyway.
