I don't just want Conte fired, I want to see his head displayed on a pike outside the stadium.

I have never seen a coach trying this hard to get shit canned.

There better be universal non-outrage if Richarlison decides to simply beat him until he quits.

And I thought Mourinho was a bad hire.

15 million pounds a season for that? An athlete pulls shit like Conte did, he'd be rightly pilloried.

Tottenham is sitting 4th (but the next three I think have games in hand) and are having an assistant play out the season? Is that weird given how clubs will hire guys to keep them up or is he young enough that he could do well and keep the job? Or are they just cheap?

I think it's because none of the big money coaches looking for work will walk into the situation at Tottenham right now. Guys like Nagelsman and others may as well collect their severance pay and then sign in the summer. It's a precarious spot for Spurs as they are more than likely to not make the Champions League/

One of the guys on today's "Football Weekly" podcast (Lars Sivertsen I think?) said "that was his out loud voice...can you imagine what his internal monologue was saying?".

I held out as long as I could, but now I'm ready to admit that Chelsea needs to blow things up and start over. They still have a lot of parts that could be key players on a strong team, but at this point, any change is fair game (although I have to think that Reece James is still pretty untouchable). I expect it'll be a very different team next fall.

Reece James? Certainly the training staff have touched him a lot this season.

You're probably right, but it is incredible that a club that spent so much money is in a position like this.

It is incredible that Spurs - with the team's ongoing shitshow - are somehow ahead of Chelsea and Liverpool

will just comment in some state of shock that for the first time in my ~12? years of pulling for Aston Villa the team has more wins than losses after the new year, let alone in April. 7th seems not quite right, other than when they were in the Championship.

...but definitely savouring it.

Chelsea about to hire fat Frank as caretaker manager is LOL. I suppose they may not have Europe in their sights, and be nearly mathematically safe from the drop, but he is not a good manager at all.

Just baffling. If they wanted to get a disposable manager to see out the year before a splashy summer hire, why the Chelsea legend who's already recently been fired twice (including by Chelsea)? It just makes no sense to me.

I'll be shocked if he does well, and if he doesn't, wouldn't it further show how out of his depth he is? Baffling on both sides.

Talking to my mother last night and she gave me a report on the game she watched. Apparently West Ham got demolished by White Castle. I thought White Castle just demolished digestive tracts.

Spurs games of late have probably been great fun for the neutrals watching, but so angering for Spurs fans. Agitating De Zerbi is probably the only thing that Stellini actually accomplished during the game.

You watch well-managed teams like Brighton or Newcastle play and you just have to wonder how dinosaurs like Mourinho and Conte (and his acolytes) are still so highly rated.

One of the things I can’t wrap my head around as an avid yet casual (and relatively new American) PL fan is how a coach who has done what Klopp has can seemingly be in trouble after one down season. Is it just the fact that the British media is always in overdrive and needs content or is the CL cash really that important or am I too casual and missing something else?

The year leicester won remains my biggest wtf experience with the pl since every pundit on NBC and whoever it was that SXM rebroadcasts insisted up until the very end that it wasn’t gonna happen.

That season also may have also cemented me as a dude who watches every weekend.

They could obviously do a little midfield work but I’m hoping the real problem is that at all times 2-3 of their big name back 4 is actually/playing pretty awful defensively. That’s a much harder fix.
