I don't have tv here (not even motivated enough to set up an AFN decoder), so naturally I found out about this via a friend on Facebook.

Just like Korea, I'll always be in an Americanized bubble when living in a foreign country. I'm not really a fan of that, but knowing I won't live here forever it makes sense.

The most popular tv show in the world (of course it's chinese and watched by a billion people) is the Bachelor-type dating show. A guy can choose one of 24 girls, or more like 24 girls can choose him.

And now it's dubbed! Sounds pretty funny.

After I watched those cocky kids trash the Walkman, I cautiously clicked on the one with teens and Nirvana. I was prepared to be pissed at their disdain and ignorance, but was pleasantly surprised. Most already knew and liked Nirvana and the remainder pretty much all dug what they heard. Who says today's youth is hopeless?

That was really interesting. I have to think they these kids are unusually bright and insightful. Great to see that most of them knew all the words and couldn't help but sing along. I distinctly remember hearing Teen Spirit for the first time, and it was on an angst-filled day, so it hit me hard. Listened to the fuck out of that CD. Still listen to it at the gym now and then. I think it has held up extremely well. Just weird hearing them call it old time music.
