No way are of the bottom dwellers getting close to 39 points.

I think 35 points and you will be safe
It was always a long shot, but are you confident Chelsea can get any more points this season? Bournemouth away, Forest home, City away, United away, Newcastle home. I really think they go 0-fer Lampard.
Might pick up points against Forest/Bournemouth, difficult to see any more.

Don't think Lampard has done himself and favors here, not sure a Championship side would employ him now.

Pinnacle of his managerial career might have been getting Derby to the play-off final against Villa
This assignment was never going to be easy, but he just isn't a good manager. He looks so miserable too. He and Potter both took years off of their lives managing Chelsea under Boehly.
One of the guys on the Guardian Football Weekly pod was speculating that maybe Potter was actually doing a GOOD job with that team.
I'm trying to come up with a comp for Boehly and I think the best I can say right now is Dolan with the Knicks. Maybe whoever runs PSG?

Even as a Chelsea fan, I admit that would be funny.

BTW, while the Boehly reign has been a disaster so far on the pitch, he doesn't seem like a Dolan-level asshole.

Also following the last day of the Championship.

Shockingly, Luton (with the weirdest little stadium imaginable) is a lock for 3rd and is in the playoffs. If Millwall gets a result today, they too will be in the playoffs.

Millwall's fans will not be very welcome in the Premier league.

Yeah, remember that book, Among the Thugs, about soccer hooligans? Millwall’s firm was very prominently featured.

So, go Millwall!

ETA: just saw that Millwall lost today, so no playoffs for them!

Coventry drew with 'Boro 1-1 on the last day of the season..which means they now face each other in the promotion semifinals (today's result would not have meant any changes). So 3 straight matches between boro and the sky blues.

Oh but the series "Sunderland Til I Die" on Netflix covered back to back heartbreaks. A good show, but painful

Both are incredible stories considering where they each were a few years ago.

And if you haven't seen it, you have to check out Luton's (10,000 seat) stadium...

Decided to not watch the game today.

All that's left to complete a wretched season is a win against Leeds next weekend to secure a spot in the Conference League.

(That tournament is such a joke and a millstone for the 7th place team. Perhaps a spot in the Conference League should be a punishment for the team that finishes 17th)
